    Samsung Galaxy Note II

    Anyone here own it?

I was just at the Sprint Store and testing it out. Pretty sweet. It is huge, but I think I could get use to it. Sprint has a 14 day exchange/return policy, so if it is a pain because of it's size, I could always take it back.

What pissed me off though, is I called ahead and they said they had them in stock. I get there, ready to buy it, and they have none. Another store had a white one, but I feel white phones are for females.

If you own it, post here on how you like or dislike it.

I get my upgrade in like 3 months and I am torn. I have been an Apple guy (Iphone, Ipad 2, apple tv) which makes me lean Iphone 5....but I do like what I see in the Samsung. I like big phones, so thats more a strength than a weakness to me.....and yes, white phones are for broads.

What do you currently use? Having my whole house apple-fied, will probably make me continue with the 5...but you probably cant go wrong with either.

    I'm not a Apple fan.

I'm still running a 2.5 year old HTC EVO 4G. The Note II makes it look tiny.

The Note II looked and ran smooth. I'm sure the size of it won't be a big deal for me. I just need it to fit nice in my front pants pocket at work and when I go out. I will get that Samsung Flip cover, so it will make it a little more thicker.

Have you went and tested out the Note II yet? I think it will sway you away from the i5, especially if you like bigger phones.

And the Note II has a quad core compared to the S3 dual core.

You own the S3? If so, how is it?

No I havent yet. I played a little bit with the S3, so I figure I know how it handles. I think I am afraid of liking it, and then having obsolete apple shit everywhere. Such a bummer.....apple has me right where they want me. Although, a lot of my apple stuff will be absolete anyway due to themchanging the damn input jack. The adapter for the jack is like 30-40 bucks a pop

International S3 has quad core also.

There's not much difference between the quad core and dual core because the dual core is a "Krait" based CPU.
Both are nice. I was looking to get the Note 2 but Samsung pulled an Apple.

Nothing but A15 cpu and 1080p screen non-pentile for me next so I pass on both.

Really like the HTC butterfly but who knows when that will come to North America and how much it will be neutered.

I own the original Note. I must say it was single handed the best phone I've owned in a while. The Stylus was incredibly responsive Samsung supported it pretty well including a OS Upgrade. I have nothing but good things to say, I got it while still at AT&T but I have since moved to Verizon.

I still use the phone as a tablet despite it not having cell service. It just works better than my Asus Transformer and the screen size is just right. And it fits well in your pants or slacks.

Oh okay. I was just pointing out the US version had the different processor.

It really don't matter, as it was fast and responsive. It is a phone, and not a gaming PC.

It would have to last me 2 years or so, so I think the current hardware is good to go. Hell, I'm still using a 2.5 year EVO 4G, and it still runs fast and smooth. I just feel it is time for a upgrade.

We can always be waiting for the next and greatest thing. Stuff comes out entirely to fast these days.

What are you currently using K13?

Gonna choose between this one and the HTX One X+ that is coming out.

Both of them are comparible in specs. If the size of the Note 2 is too much for me, then I'll get the HTC - if not, I think the larger screen would be awesome - but I don't exactly want to be talking into a tablet as a phone.

I know a few people who had the note 1, and they all loved it and got used to it pretty quickly. However, every single one of them upgraded the the Galaxy S3.

Great phone. Samsung and HTC are the only name in smart phones right now. Apple is stuck in a time warp.

I got the samsung galaxy s3 about 3 weeks ago.

It's fantastic. Anyone thinking of getting the iphone 5 over it needs to have their head examined.

Great operating system, gorgeous screen, extremely lightweight despite size.

When I was purchasing mine another guy was actually returning his iphone 5 to get a galaxy.

be wary with quad core onlooker. alot of apps and such don't even support quad core so the difference will only come down to speed. i know this may sound weird because alot just assume quad core>dual core, but in the state of phoens and apps, its just not really the case. but if you got the money. go for it.

I sure hope the LV Mobile Sportsbook Apps work on it. If not, I would return it.

Quad-Core or Dual-Core. Doesn't really matter to me. I'm sure they are both fast and you probably can't tell the difference without running benchmarking apps. I like the size of it, but not sure it will be a pain in the ass or not.

But some have stated here, the size isn't really a issue.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I currently own the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Nexus and without a doubt the 4S is a superior phone in almost every respect. I have large hands and thought the much larger Nexus would be great but it is simply not practical to have a phone that large because it will almost always require you to use both hands. I actually hate the fukking thing but bought it for work and don't use it enough to bother selling it.

i personally got the samsung galaxy nexus. clocked at about 1700(custom everything) and it is just perfect. quad core technology isnt really there yet for phones but if you like all the other things about it. then go for it.

I take it you rooted yours?

I can't root mine, because the LV Sportsbook Apps won't work on it if rooted.

I will probably have it for 2 years or more. I'm sure the quad-core tech will become more relevant in that time span.

All I do with my phone is make calls, text, web surf, and make bets. Not into gaming on it.

The Nexus is trash in comparison to the SII, SIII, Note 1, HTX one X, note 2, and soon to be HTX one x+.

I had the nexus - and it was a disaster.

The quad core is utilized in gaming only right now. Android is far behind apple in making specific apps to run the tech, so you get generic apps that can run on a droid or the note.

The quad core is in all of the main android flagships, phone and tablet, so it will be changing - as there have already been some optimized apps released for the infinity tab/nexus 7.

Jelly Bean is flawless on the tegra quads.

Assumed it was tegra quad core like all the flagship androids. Same one that is in the nexus 7 and infinity tablets.

Download the tegra zone, awesome 3D games in there optimized for it. The damns game in there play like a PS Vita on a huge screen.

Me too. Had that phone for far too long. Traded in the first samsung galaxy for it and every day I regretted it until I got the galaxy 2.

The iPhone 4s is at least comparable to the samsung galaxy 2 - as it is still a quality product made with innovative technology of its time. The iPhone 5 is a step back. Apple might be on a very slippery slope without jobs.

True, but most the time I want a hand held internet over a phone.

Despise cell phone mentalities. People expect you to answer every call now - like a leash. I treat my cell phone as a glorified land line with mobile internet/entertainment system.
