The beauty of the Lakers is that books put up incredibly dumb lines on them and peopel still bet them like its 2001. Lakers opened -5 and went to -7. I only know of a single game where the line went against the lakers and that was in Houston when Pau was a late scratch, and even then it took about 4 hours for people to actually move the number.
Miami had been a decent fade the past couple years, especially for a team with a lot of Su wins, but Lakers are by far better. So why gamble when you have a sure thing?
I spelled it out in this thread, in the past 7 years Lakers and Spurs combined are 530-452 ATS. That includes this years numbers. If youre looking for more than that youre just greedy, and thats why gamblers lose, they start doing shit they dont need to to try and make more money. If you really MUST do something 'special' take home dogs on the ML against the lakers on the road. But even that isnt automatic enough to warrant it every game. So it still ends up being a gamble.
Fading the Lakers and betting on the Spurs is as automatic as it gets. I ran the numbers last week, Lakers since 200 (they have made the finals 7 times in that stretch and western conf semifinals a 3 more times, so they had some decent teams in that stretch. have only had 3 winning seasons ATS, and 2 of those seasons combined were less than 8 games over 500. One season they did very well going something like 69-35 ATS.
Heat since the 'Big 3" are 146-62 SU and 106-101-1 ATS, not exactly fade material. Nor can you bet on them and make much either.
But it is all about recognizing certain teams. There are other teams I do play, I just dont advertise them. I think giving this so much attention was enough. But it would take more than this forum to overcome the stupidity of Laker backers. Although the Spurs have had some major league spread put on them, but they still keep covering despite it. Lines on the Spurs are inflated more than a point higher than they 'should' be.

I wouldnt imagine they are, I bet with a local , a few actually, in the southern cal area one of them even calls me up to lay off action sometimes if he is too lopsided. But only in games he is nervous about. But I also get lines that are better than most places offer as well, usually doent matter but it has a couple times in the past 2 years. That might seem backwards since a lot of locals profile guys and gouge them, but these guys arent small time hacks, plus I dont bet with the same guys evy game I switch it up a little. Spurs games not so much. So amounts I have vested vary greatly. If I am just betting the game on my own right around 3Gs probably. If I double dip and add a ML it hits 5G or so. So nothing earth shatteringly large. But doing that last year was enough to bankroll my whole baseball season which I flipped into almost as much money as I ever made betting baseball when I was gambling 'full time'.
