Not sure about the rockets this year. A lot on Lin's shoulders. This could break his career or really make it in the big time. He needs to be mentally ready

HOLY SHIT!!! OKC just gave away their chances at making it back to the finals. WHy didnt they wait until the end of the season and give Harden the max anyways.

Sucks to be James Harden. Playing a big role on a team that just made it to the finals and playing with guys he genuinely likes being with. Then traded to Houston. Wow that sucks.

Harden hurt himself with a poor performance during the finals. I figured he was going to go but I was hoping it be after this year.

Harden really fell apart in the playoffs.
Fortunately for him I don't think he will need to worry about playing in the playoffs this year.

You always gotta be willing to make moves. Looks like a great deal for OKC. Lamb is going to be a great fit. Kevin Martin really good. Draft picks too. Thunder got a steal here.

I think an okay trade, other then the fact that Harden is a stud and a real man. Few in the NBA. Will be hard to replace...but I do like Lamb a lot and maybe they can trade Martin for a better fit.

Also, with those picks, maybe they can find another gem. This is how dynasties are made.

    Thunder made off like bandits.

Forget the name on the jerseys, its all about production. Kevin Martin will be great with other quality players around him. He is a sharpshooter from three, and not a ballhog.

this board is full of retards

kevin martin can score better than harden and someone had to go from okc...might as well do it now to cut it short

okc wins the west...and this cuts the wfc short by one game....great trade

People are clueless. I'm a huge Thunder fan and love this trade.

OKC offered Harden a 4 year deal for 55 million and he wanted 60 million. So OKC shipped his ass to Houston for Martin, Lamb, and a bunch of draft picks.

It was a good trade for the Thunder. They got a prove player in Martin, a rookie I love in Lamb, and then they got multiple draft picks. Also, they won't have 55 million wrapped in one guy that doesn't start.

Considering OKC couldn't give him a max deal after this year anyway, I think it was a great trade.

I was reading about this in ESPN:The Magazine. If the Thunder paid Harden, they would have been in luxery tax hell. They can't absorb the cost like other franchises. It would have been like paying Harden for 2 1/2 contracts. They only get $15 million on their TV revenues per year. It was pretty much inevitable.

Being a Rockets fan, I hate to see Lamb go. That kid is going to be a player. Looked very good in preseason. I like the fact that we got Harden, but we're going to need one or two more superstars before we will be considered a viable contender. I like how we are going to corner the Asian market with Lin, and all of the beard sales with Harden though.

True, but in the end the Thunder will be better off. I've always liked Martin and I love Lamd, plus OKC gets draft picks and doesn't have to pay the luxury tax.

OKC wasn't going to be able to sign Harden after this season anyway. The Lakers only have maybe 1-2 years left, the Spurs are aging.

OKC is setting themselves up to be a contender for a while. Harden didn't do anything in the Finals anyway.

he is overated, plus he can't play defense which really hurt okc in the finals last year

OKC get Martin and Lamb, who combined MIGHT give OKC what Harden gave them, but now they have to balance minutes between two players.

Seriously ask yourself what would you rather do, win a title and pay a luxury tax or skip the luxury tax and be perennial contenders and not win a title???

Me I'm going with the first option and I think Harden is the type of player who puts them in a position to win a title. I think without him they get close and that's it. Without Harden, they don't beat the Spurs last year.

I'm not a GM of an NBA team and for all I know neither are you so the amount of contracts should not be of concern to us. All I'm saying is this is a bad trade for OKC from a basketball standpoint.

I can't believe how many people actually think this is a bad trade for OKC.

We get a proven veteran, a promsing rookie, draft picks, and we save money.

Not to mention, WE WEREN"T GOING TO BE ABLE TO SIGN HIM ANYWAY. Do you guys really think OKC was going to have 4 max guys in their roster? Come on.

I really think they had to deal him... they would of been over the salary cap soon enough.
