If Braxton Miller Plays...How much does Ohio St. +1 Change?

He's going to be practicing thursday. anyone think this line is the braxton miller is playing line? i know penn st shows how good they can be, but a healthy ohio st has to be the favorite even on the road.

    OSU Def is offensive.

    Indiana hung 45 on them.

Buckeyes are more lucky than good...I wanna say their streak of pulling games out of their ass is over but wouldn't risk $$ on it.

The only luck they had was the Purdue game. Everything else they could have won by so much more if there defense didnt play like absolute shit, game after game. If Braxton starts, they win by 1-2 TDs. If he doesn't start, it's still a win by 3-7 points.

What do you mean? This happened once, and it happened to be last week.

I'm gonna take Penn St. Something changed with them in that Northwestern game. Fukk Ohio State. The offense is so up and down. They had trouble scoring against Purdue which is a team that nobody has struggled scoring on.

PSU is a top 20 defense against the run, and by far the best front seven that Ohio State has seen all season. Take that, plus a banged up Miller in a spot where they'll probably need him most, and I like PSU's offense to keep it going against an OSU D that has underwhelmed so far this season.

OUS has played 2 road games.

    They have won them both.

    One by 2 pts

    One by 1 pt

PSU is better than both of those teams.

just for clarification, i am not backing ohio st. this is a no play for me. i was more curious about line movement. vegas opening +2 not knowing if braxton was starting was intriguing to me. line has already moved from +2 to -1 and now pick 'em.

I think PSU is a good play here. OSU is overvalued to me because they are 8-0. They could easily be 1-3 in the B10 and haven't looked sharp in games where they should have. PSU is undervalued to me because of two awful looking losses to start the season. However, if you put those losses in context (week 1 nerves with all the stuff surrounding the program, week 2 the kicker missing 4 FGs and extra pt in a 1pt away game), it doesn't look so bad. They are not that same team, and have gotten better every week since. I can't say the same for OSU.

PSU looked surgical against Iowa and is showing a lot of sophistication on offense. McGloin is making really smart decisions coupled with aggressive play-calling, and they just got Bill Belton back and healthy for the run game - he looked good against Iowa and now the offense is even more balanced. The defense is always stout, and home field / "white out" @ Beaver Stadium with 105,000+ is a strong 12th man. They are also 2nd in the country at converting 4th downs and go for it all the damn time rather than putting it on the kicker (unless it's a gimme, and even then they might still go for it). To me this is an interesting X-factor because it puts a lot of pressure on defenses to defend another play. Lots of times they won't even run 3rd downs with the intent that they "have to get the first down here," so it makes it harder to predict what they'll do since they're likely to treat it as a 4 down situation.

OSU has issues giving up the big play, and PSU has issues on special teams (though they minimize this by avoiding FGs in most situations). In terms of kick coverage and whatnot they seem average.

I'd be curious to hear some points in favor of OSU though because I'm not completely unbiased there and haven't watched a lot of their film. How do they match up against an offense that will take good shots deep and run a lot of pro-style sets to tight ends?

The only reason OSU didn't look good against Purdue is because we match up with them. Purdue always seem to be a hard competitor for OSU. I believe it was last year we lost to them. I still think they pull this game out

Just because you dislike both teams doesn't make them bad.
Both top 10 if not top 5

And they lost to Ohio State by 12.

But keep hacking away, you'll figure it out....some day.

Why, given the advances of modern day medical technology and if you are now under the age of 8 ( which you do appear to be)....I think you have at least a 10/90 chance.
