although I love all contests no matter what, I don't love the format of this one, because it doesn't reward good handicapping much, as opposed to the format of their NCAA contest, which is awesome, and rewards perceptive capping very well

I play. My best week was 14. That was my score in both week 4 and week 5.
It seems rather pointless because they only pay the top score from each week and the top score at the end of the season. You know how hard it is to beat out everyone?

I can't believe they aren't paying out like top ten or 25 winners.... at least throw out some free plays. I am in 30th right now and chances of me getting 1st are fading, and I am losing interest in the contest. I think everyone would have preferred the top prize to be a couple grand lower and spread out the wealth. Originally Posted by yisman

The contest is fun and has a generous prize. Unfortunately, like others have mentioned it is rather pathetic that they only issue a prize to who is/are the top dog(s) each week. My worst week was this past week where I only had 9 correct but I changed my strategy and picked a lot more dogs, I just picked the wrong ones lol. My best week was 15 wins which was the previous week.
I really wish Heritage would have created a contest with a full board of NCAAF and NFL games and just let players play the spread on 20 games he or she chooses. This would be far more entertaining to me and it would be less "coin flippy".

My best week was 17 and I lost by 1. At the end of the year I think they combine your 4 best weeks for the grand prize, not the total wins.

it's just frustrating playing in a contest where you know there's over a 90% chance you win nothing, even if you have a very good season. I've been pretty good and very consistent. But with the format they're using, I have no chance at the season-ending prize because it rewards people who have wild swings, like a few 15+ win weeks and some weeks where you get almost nothing (and those get dropped).
They've had good contests in the past. I remember the sbr blackjack ones, even though I didn't win.

Watch for a new prize pool that will be added for the "Race to The Super Bowl" contest.
We will make more money available for additional placings for the year end prize. We will post the details to the contest page on Monday with more chances for entries to cash a prize for the Super Bowl.
Keep in mind that the weekly contest pays the best record and ties. Last week there were 4 players that each took a winners share.
Its been a tough schedule this year and I'd hate to share my office pool results. Keep playing and you may catch a break one of these weeks!

Only lost 1 game so far this week up until the 4:25 EST games.
Even if I end up losing only 3 games I probably still won't be at the top.
