yeah he is using sabremetrics to get verlander the cy young, but doesn't want anything to do with it for MVP.

Well, MVP and Triple Crown are the same guy, so that's kind of cheating. It won't matter because Price will win Cy Young.

Price will get cy young or he should, but if they do win it all would be a very impressive season. I mean with the city being such a shit hole they need something for the people of Detroit to live for

Verlander and price are about 50/50 for CY young IMO. Since Tigers made playoffs and he is reigning CY young champ I think gives him a slight edge. Wouldnt be surprised either way honestly. Weaver lol no chance there.

of the 18 teams that have had both a cy young and mvp on the same team, a whopping 17 of them won the division.

so throwing out the triple crown it's been done quite a bit.

of course when you add in the triple crown then no team has ever done that

I bet that Tiger koolaid taste good right about now... your Lions are awful this year so its good yall atleast have a baseball team that is good.

I am a Carolina guy and my Panthers suck and the only we have to look forward to is the Bobcats who were the worst team in NBA history last year.

Man it must be nice to have big league baseball in your hometown!!!

btw , i haven't seen you posting many bets lately... did you take a break from betting?

it actually is much more simple than that

if people think the sportswriters who vote for mvp are going to vote as a majority for a) a rookie who b) had the best year based on sabermetrics or even anything far beyond the triple crown stats then they obviously don't know much about how these things generally go

look at 2010 cy young voting...felix was by far the best pitcher in the AL and halladay was the best pitcher in the NL but not nearly as clear cut....which guy was unanimous? doc....it's a joke that felix only got 75% of the 1st place votes that year...fortunately no one was close to being as good in reality so he still won fairly easily

None of that matters. Cardinals got in last year by a miracle. GB packers got in last game of the season there championship year.

We had a lot of key injuries and still won the division. I rather then get on a roll towards the end than hot early and choke like the rangers.

Detroit could still lose 3 straight to the A's in Oakland.

    A's very tough at home.

Exactly Regular season records dont mean shit. Ask the undefeated Patriots team that looked unstoppable until the superbowl when Giants put an end to that. Playoffs is a whole different story in all sports just need a team to get hot at the right time.
