they start off with good MM ... lose a few in a row or go 2-7
then go crazy with an all-in bet

OK but that's not acceptable criteria to fit the original question. The answer is complicated really, if you are a break-even gambler eventually the rake (price) will bust you, I suppose for the majority of people the question is actually; how long does it take to bust a bankroll under these conditions.

Was betting with 1/3 kelly criterion for a good while and bets on average were coming in around 0.8% of my bankroll. Started betting a lot more volume and wanted to streamline my processes somewhat so started flat betting around 1%. It obviously depends on what odds you are backing things at too. I assume you are talking about backing spreads around even money - in this case you would have to get on an absolute horrible run to lose your bankroll at 1%. Obviously your bet size goes up and down with your bankroll - so it is going to take a lot more than 100 losses to bust you out.
On a Saturday or Sunday i'm going to have 50-80 bets on and most of the time these will win and lose at a similar rate. Even the days I take an absolute horrible beat down i'm losing like 10%-15%.

I lost 11 wagers in a row using bankroll management, and got no where near going broke.
Hell, I went down ~9 units the first weekend of football (1-3% plays) and was still no where near.
If you simply assume you are betting coin flips, betting with BR management, you would have to be unluckier than the guy who was at both Hiroshima and Nagasaki when the bombs were dropped.
