Why would refs accept deal now?

Demands should be double what they were last week

Guys should ask for ownership share of all 32 teams

NFL has no leverage right now. Dumb for them to continue negotiating

I don't think their deal is about greed. They just want to get the deal struck and get back on the field. Apparently the NFL wanted the referees to be full-time employees, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

refs should hit back super hard with an offer to start up next week but yes with enormous demands

if NFL says no, go public with it

they should think of the most they ever thought was possible for them to get, and ask for two and a half times that, say they can be on the field by the Thursday game

thats how you fukin negotiate, hardball, zero mercy, nothing personal strictly business

if the nfl says no, come back with a new offer on wednesday asking for double the Tuesday offer, show them whos boss, no fear no mercy no negotiations

What is wrong with American professional sports

    NFl amateur refs
    Nba last yr lockout
    NHL this yr lockout

It doesn't happen here in the uk

    Soccer no problem
    rugby no problem
    Cricket no problem

    So why does it happen

because you don't have a little thing known as "freedom" that we have in the US, which to some people, is kind of important

    They are real sports

The premier league is the biggest watched league in the world and as for betting turnover I would say more is bet on that league than the NFl

If you think America is free, you haven't been paying attention. There is zero difference between the UK and here, except for healthcare...other than that we're all sheep.

you are socialists which means you do not want to take responsibility for your own lives and expect others to work hard and then support you for free so yeah i guess in that sense you have freedom because you want everything for free hahaha lol

we are in a democracy which means that we have freedom and earn everything we have which is why we have a lot and which is why in the end other countries have to do what we say and are jealous of us and try to copy us

People secretly love watching these replacement refs. Its another element of the game.

Guys cant wait to blow their load when a replacement ref fcks up a call so they can bitch and complain to all their friends.

Its also another excuse for losing wagers (although last night was pretty fvked up).

People love controversy, NFL is more exciting when there is controversy.

Goodell looks these refs straight in the face:

"You're right. The entire world is against me right now. This is the biggest PR nightmare for pro sports in a long, long time. People are ready to march in the streets, but everyone seems to be forgetting one thing.

The league doesn't belong to you. It doesn't belong to the players who will all be broke within a few years, and it doesn't belong to the 100 million fat idiot fans with no lives outside of their pathetic "true fan" identity. Ratings are higher than ever. Every game is going to be sold out for the rest of the year and we're going to set records for merchandise sales yet again. We're going to make billions no matter what. Last night is proof that you have 0 impact in profitability. Why should I pay you?

I can change the sport the 2 horses f*cking for 4 hours straight and I'd probably sell $50M worth of Mr. Ed jerseys. It does not matter. You have no leverage. I have a nation full of drooling addicted walmart shoppers begging for their football fix and I control 100% of supply.

Last chance. People are going to watch the games with or without you. Take the deal or enjoy reffing western dakota state junior college for the rest of your lives."

More people are going to tune in now to watch these refs blow calls. The league is just getting crazy now, coaches getting pissed and grabbing refs, not shaking hands, players playing dirtier knowing theres a good chance refs won't make the right calls ... it could get wild

The funny thing to me is that the lower classes are talking about rioting over a bad call in a fcuking football game. Riots in the streets. Over THAT? Anybody that wants to riot over that is a complete and utter loser in life. If you want to riot riot over QE3 QE infinity. Riot over our grotesque political system. Don't riot over a make believe game that really doesn't matter.

Buddy, I'm from Boston. I'm a Republican and small business owner. They have the same freedoms in the UK as we do, I lived there for a few years...really life there is just like here. just my two cents.

in the uk they have socialist medicine which means that people get healthcare just handed to them by the goverment which means that liberal beureucreats in the goverment sit back and decide who gets to live and die aka death panels which oh yeah is exactly what obama tried to force into America

but we will not allow that in America, in America we let the free market decide who gets to live and die

ok well if you are a Republican then good vote for Romney so that we can keep America the way it is supposed to be and not a country of moochers like all the people who freeload and dont pay taxes now

that's the problem. The NFL is coming off as the biggest hypocrites. Goodell with his rhetoric about integrity of the league and player safety seems to be lost now that the league is the one that is being penalized financially by the refs.(lockout/strike) We're simply being taken for fools.

The Refs are not looking for more money, they are content with whatever it is they make.

The Strike is about the pension fund, the Refs want it to stay status quo, which means getting a pre determined amount, the owners want them to pay into a 401 plan which means it can go up or down no gaurantees on what they get.
