Any chance the NFL will reverse this game?

Can the NFL announce tomorrow that the Packers get the win?

Is there any precedent for something like this?

Can the NFL reverse the game based on the last call of the game?

If ever there was a time for it, I think this is it.

    No

It is what it is. You'd have to rewrite the entire history of the nfl if it were to be reversed.

Reminds me of Armando Gallaraga perfect game

They could have easily reversed the call and given him the perfect game and nobody would be upset about it. But they didnt.

Cant go back and change the result of a game. Has to happen at that time.

NFL had a chance to reverse the call when it was reviewed. Goodell should have been on the phone and said reverse that play to an INT or I will lose my fkn job.

Try to get into the game as a ref. Can't be that hard, just go out of your way to get the right look.

    You'll be famous.

Goodell has the power to overturn a game's results.

I agree, an unprecedented f*ck up should provoke an unprecedented response...but it won't happen. That would be the NFL admitting what an absolute failure and mistake it is arguing about the petty amount of money (relatively) with the real refs.

From what I know about the rules, yes "Commissioner" Goddell can step in and overturn the call if he feels it is in the best interest of the NFL. However, the likelihood of such an event occurring is slim to none because it would be giving in to the fact that the game needs the real referees.

To the similarities of the Armando Galaragga situation; though similar there are many differences. The perfect game call did not change the outcome of the game as the Detroit Tigers ended up winning the game. Last night's call CHANGES the outcome of the game and will have a direct impact on the entire season. In addition, baseball has very limited instant replay and has the protocol of not changing the call. However, the NFL has branded itself on the fact that the use of instant replay is to make sure the game is played and called in the right fashion and this simply goes against that message. Goddell has the obligation to the league's brand and to its owners and fans to overturn this call but I simply do not see this happening.

Goddell changes the ruling and awards Packers 12 - 7 victory - +40000
    Goddell does nothing - -60000

    place your wagers

I think it'd be a terrible choice to change the outcome.

Bad calls happen that affect outcomes all of the time...this just happened to occur right at the end of the game. What about the 2 Pass INT. calls that allowed GB to continue a drive to score, and Seahawks extended a drive on a bad Pass INT. call as well.

There were plenty of calls in that game that could have changed that outcome that were bad/missed.

Maybe he should have turned over that Lions/Bears game a few years back with calvin's catch/no catch, no?

To much shit to deal with...life sucks, bad call...

Seattle also extended a drive on a phantom roughing the passer penalty on a Green Bay interception. I can hardly bare to watch this crap today. Looking at Mangini break down the last play of the game, it appears that the Seahawks comitted 2 penalties on the play AND then got the bogus call at the end by the ref who was 15 yards away from the play. Brutal, but life goes on.

if you thought this gm had any integrity left before this play you were blinded,,,this gm lost integrity the minute these clowns started manipulating the rules to create more offense for purposes of fan enjoyment and disguising it under "player safety", trust me if they gave a flying fukk about player safety they wouldnt be playing every thur and pushing for a 18 gm schedule...
