    Question about my new bookie

Just got set up with a new bookie. Got a 500 dollar limit and he wanted 25% up front so i gave him 125. I lost all 500 and now owe him on Wednesday.

I full plan on paying him the money. But today I didnt have my phone on me all day because I was at work, when I checked my phone I have 5 texts from him at different hours. "Down 500, want more action today", "hello are you alive, i want to make sure you know you owe me money", "You need to call me asap", "last time i text you, dont make US do this....".

All of these texts came within 4 hours of each other, and its starting to sketch me out. The fact hes flipping out over 500 dollars when he told me he has clients betting 10k on games alone is making me think this guy is not very reliable. Plus, its not even Wednesday and the guy is already freaking me out and sending threats.

What should I do, I plan on paying him Wednesday but after that should I continue to bet with him? Im starting to wonder if I would get paid if this guy is that stingy over a little bit of cash like 375$. Is this how most bookies act? I havent texted him back, plan on it in the morning.

Also, I was referred to this guy by a member on another sports forum. Apparently he knew a local in my area and he got us set up. Ive never met this bookie in person, I sent him money through a prepaid **** card. Something smells kinda fishy, what do u guys think?

Always amazes me that people would rather go this route while bitching about an on-line book's slow pay or outdated software. Let's face it: bookies as a whole aren't any more or less reliable than an off-shore operation. It's all a gamble.

if he freaked out because you didnt respond to his texts within 4 hrs and you owed him 375 then hes probably no good. Id pay him the cash and tell him you dont penetrate around with small timers such as him.

Business is business, $500 or $50,000 doesn't matter.

If you're unhappy then just pay him this time and part ways. It's not complicated.

The bright side about losing is that he never would have paid you if you won, anyway. Settle up and find someone else. What a dipstick. I bet he was sweating your bets, jumping up and down and yelling at the TV.

No locals act this way. Have you used a local before this? Your fault going with someone you don't know, and not asking about the whole setup to begin with to avoid this mess.

Are you sure this bookie isn't the guy from the other forum? Sounds like a kid trying to run a scam. Harass if you owe, don't pay if you win.

Even if he's somehow legit though I'd pay him and go elsewhere. I don't need to use locals but when I did I never had anyone act like this. And I'd sometimes owe quite a bit more than $375 sadly.

if it was me, and maybe this aint best for everyone but soon as that bitch sent me a threatening text at all, let alone 3 days before time to settle he just lost any chance in hell of getting shit from me, id text him back and tell him to come get his motha fukkin money, then id sit around hoping like hell someone came knocking on my door... again that just me tho, guess it really depends on your willingness to be violent if necessary, good odds you never even gotta worry bout, then again still chance you better be ready to fukk someone up if need be..

just let him know you were away from the phone and pay him and move on to next week...he doesnt want to get fukked by a new guy, but one thing i am absolutely positive of...NO way in hell does the guy book 10k bets...on credit or 1/4 down...so dont listen to his bullshit because thats his way of saying he can handle all your action, but the guy is more full of shit than a christmas turkey...he is a small time guy that values his 500 bucks thats owed to him.

if you only have a 500 credit limit you are better off playing offshore. i love using locals, but the way this guy is acting over 500 if you have a good week i fukking guarantee you he will disappear on you. pay him his 375 and move on. everyone in this type of business gets beat now and again, but for him to treat YOU, his client this way he doesnt deserve to get your business.

At best your local is unprofessional. At worst he's a scam. I would Pay the Man and take my business elswhere.

There are plenty of good bookies out there, you just have to do your research. I have had nothing but great experiences with my last 2 locals, so much so that I will never use an offshore book again.

The only reason I had to change books is due to my last operation getting busted on tax charges. Even when that happened though, they paid out all positive accounts, and negatives were forgotten. Cash in the mail by Wednesday, even when I hit a 7 team parlay last season. 95-1ish.

Don't look for a bookie, look for a outfit.
