as in pass 3 yards to your rb or a 5 yard flare to your wr and they do the running. oak has some of the fastest players in the league. palmer can't complete a pass past 25 yards. thanks.

he also threw more interceptions than touchdowns last year. palmer throws lots of picks.

last year he threw 16 interceptions and only 13 touchdowns

he threw 3 ints when he was forced into action only a few days after he became a raider. another 3 in his first start. you dont really believe you can grasp a whole new offense in a few days do you????

he did have one awful game in gb where he threw 4 but that game was already long over when he started slinging it.

but he was among league leaders in yds, tds, yds per pass, comp%, comps over 20yds, etc.

yup i'm the dumbass that took SD while you told me my pick validated a Huge raiders play. Just like my atl pick validated KC for you and my pats pick validated Tenn for you.

Looks like you and palmer both had a horrible day. Wake me up when Palmer throws a TD. Wait he can only throw 12 yard passes.

his interception numbers have always been high. his TD:int ratio is worse than brett favres. the interceptions weren't just last year. they are every year.

when you say "among league leaders" in all those categories... do you include 15th place? 17th place? 24th place?

im talking about since he became a starter. you didnt really think i was comparing someone who started just 9 games to those who started all 16?????

eli led the nfl in ints and so did rivers... does that make them awful qbs?

In the NFL 2013 draft, with their 1st pick selection the Oakland Raiders select Matt Barkley USC.

Eli threw for almost 5,000 yards last season. 4933 to be exact. that is over 1,000 more yards than what palmer averages every year.

blame the drops, fumble and awful special teams. palmer was the only bright spot.

eli used to suck. he was bad his first 4 years. he is much improved. his last 4 years have been good.

comparing manning to palmer in their last 4 years shows manning to have much higher qb rating.

eli threw just shy of 5,000 yards last season.

so since eli sucked early in his career we should just omit it even though palmer had much more success early in his career?

eli had one season where he passed over 4021 yds... last season. yet palmer has thrown for more yds per season.

eli was worse than palmer in his first 4 years. but in the last 4 years he has been much better. compare their numbers over the last 4 years.

Palmer has never thrown anywhere close to 5,000 yards.

yes when eli first entered league he was awful and palmer was better. However, over the last 4 years eli has been much better.

Oh, and how many super bowls has Palmer won?

Eli has 2 super bowl rings in the last 5 years.

all the passes were mere dink & dunk passes avg 6 yds. he also dropped about 3 passes.

it's a fair point. i thought you were trying to argue who is better now, or who has been better over the last 5 years. if you want to put a heavy weight towards the seasons that were 6-10 years ago... then sure. palmer and eli are about a wash in yrds per season. it all depends how you want to look at it. if you want to look at 8 years and put them all at equal weight... you can make a case for their similarities (although i will argue that Eli's steller postseason play accounts for something). I tend to personally believe that more emphasis should be given on last 5 years.

im not even a huge eli fan. although 2 super bowls in 5 years is impressive. and throwing for practically 5,000 yards in one season is impressive.

im just remarking that you were saying palmer is among the league leaders. this i would have to disagree with.

i think the league leaders at QB position are:

    Brady
    Rodgers
    Payton Manning
    Brees

I don't really think Palmer is anywhere close to the category that they are in.

When people talk about "league leaders" i got the impression you were comparing Palmer to Brady, Rodgers, P. Manning, and Brees. I would have to disagree. I think they are in a class of their own. i dont even think palmer is close.

that's just my opinion though. you are free to disagree. i enjoyed having an intellectual discussion with you.

All I know by watching the game and not looking at the stats was that he allowed for many of those wide receiver drops to happen.
