an effective pass rush is much more important than a good secondary. Raiders have one of the best d-lines in the league.

well you got to admit, SD is always picked to do well but always fails. That team is a constant proven failure.

Nice pick and analysis. San Diego is overrated this year due to some of the past production of some of their skill position players and racking up wins in a down conference in the past. At one point last year they lost 6 in a row.

Altough San Diego did win in Oakland the final week of last season, McFadden fully healthy is a beast and adds a much needed dynamic/explosive element to that offense, and will take some of the pressure off Palmer who never really played with with McFadden last year, maybe part of 1 game or 1 game tops?

Palmer should improve this year after getting wildly thrown into the offense last year mid season. He should be better acclimated to the system and enjoy having a true #1 RB in the backfield. He did play fairly well down the stretch last year, especially in his last 4 home games getting over 300 yds passing each game. He also should enjoy going against SD, a team he racked up over 400 yds on in the final game of last season in Oakland.

Oakland was 4-2 with McFadden in the lineup against a tough schedule before they lost his production (100+ yds rush+ rec/game) last year. I expect the Raiders to come out of the gate strong like last year with McFadden and beat San Diego, a team on decline with aging, decaying personnel, who I bet to have a worse year than projected by their o/u win projection totals as well.

GL with your pick and hopefully the Raiders can rekindle some of that Old School Monday night magic that they had back in the days. Defense is always an issue with Oak, but hopefully they can exploit SD's aging players, and SD's rookie LT who was undrafted and not overly impressive when he played at UCLA last season.

Heyward Bey's hands were garbage his 1st and 2nd years but he was much improved in catching/route-running last year.
Watch out for Streeter, he could see a lot of playing time and I believe Oakland has found a diamond in the rough with this one.
Gates should have a big night but I dont believe the wideouts for San Diego will. McFadden will have a huge night

The key you guys aren't seeing is LT Gaither isn't playing. This means rivers is going to have a rough day. Rivers sucked last season before they picked up Gaither. After Gaither joined, Rivers got .5 seconds more time to throw, which vastly improved his performance. No Gaither tonight means I'm betting big on Raiders.
