I hope these are the types of teams you have to root for if you love mlb. Yanks, Dodgers, etc. are a joke!

The thing I hate about Moneyball is they dont even mention once that they had 3 of the best pitchers in the league that basically shut down every team they faced

    Forget the A's

The Rays have done it for years

    Joe Maddon
He should have won manager of the year 5 years in a row

I agree Math.. the Rays are another fun team and pretty much mirror what Oakland does. They build around pitching and have a decent, mostly no-name offense that usually gets it done. The Nats are another young exciting team I like to root for.

High Paid teams do not equate to being winners

We are finding out so much talent in minors that you can win with

Well anything can happen in a one-game playoff. It seems pointless to me to play 162 games for a one-game playoff, should be 2-out-of-3

Oh I wasn't even thinking about the division. I didn't realize Oakland got that close. I'm just shocked that if season ended right now, the wild card would be Oakland vs. BALTIMORE, and the Orioles still have only 15,000 going to their games.

Congrats on making the PO-- now win the division!!!

Crisp had a go-ahead double in the fifth inning as the A's (92-68) pulled within one game of Texas (93-67) in the AL West with two to go and moved into a tie with Baltimore for the American League's top wild card.

A's could of had Andre Eithier as well. They traded him away for Milton Bradley and some unknown arm.

    Reddick + Gomes + Crisp = Championships
