Tsk Tsk.. Obama campaigns during Hurricane Isaac -- What would they say about Bush

Because Isaac has finally hit full force, we’re bound to experience some truly excruciating media hackery tonight about Republicans daring to stoop to partisan politics while Louisianans suffer. Be advised: The guy who actually runs the federal government’s emergency-response apparatus is in Charlottesville, Virginia as I write this desperately trying to convince college students that letting him rocket the country towards a fiscal meltdown is good for their future. According to standard presidential protocol, he shouldn’t be campaigning at all this week. Usually the incumbent stays off the trail as a courtesy to the other party when they hold their convention. But because, contra Vice President Chains, O’s top priority is first, last, and always his own reelection, that protocol is up in smoke. Even when there’s a hurricane over New Orleans that should, in theory, require his undivided attention.
Note to Bobby Jindal: Try to catch him tomorrow, when he’s not busy with something more important.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) on Monday sent a letter to President Obama saying the federal government was not doing enough to help Louisiana cover the expenses it’s taking on in preparation for Tropical Storm Isaac…

The action by Obama makes federal funding to the state available immediately, but Jindal said it “only provides for direct federal assistance” and doesn’t “provide for reimbursement of expenses that the state is taking to prepare for the storm.”

“The State’s expenditures for emergency protective measures are already approximately $8,000,000 and exceed the State of Louisiana’s threshold when making a request for a major disaster declaration,” the letter continued.
That was published this morning. As of 3 p.m. ET:

Shouldn't the guys who all about the state handling their own business not need Federal money for their natural disaster?

Dear jerkoff troll (i.e. gnu taxes - whom I believe is a TOTAL shill for the right wing - (we'll see when they don't play BTP).
It's a cat 1 hurricane, dear sir troll. People will lose their homes. The 'Army Corps of Engineers', the (R) answer to everything has the answer to f$%k all. You need 'socialist funds' to save said people's homes. What do you want? A socialist that protects you or someone that doesn't give a rat's arse? I know it's mostly POOR people and middle class people that will lose their homes - they are not the REAL AHMERICHA F YEAH. F'n hypocrits.

    Lets keep it simple:
"You're doin a heckuva job, Brownie"

What happened 7 years ago with Katrina was UN-forgivable to me, for how the people that did not leave key spots in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana were treated.

It's shameful when Sean Penn and a camera crew saved their lives (F'n HOLLYWOOD ELITES trying to save life, WTF, let um die, according to (R) standards).

What is even more shameful is you could read the NEWS - that were 3 days ahead of FEMA. Amazing how people got water at the Superdome in NO, LA.... No idea how Ala or Miss dealt with the horrible tragedy, let along survived.

I about figure EVERY (R) person knows that they ALL had SUVs and Hummers to truck them out of a category-3 hurricane and were happy with their asbestos-laden trailers. It's not so much government fails. It's when STUPID morons run government (i.e. W - no one else has control of those 'appointees'). Like when Clinton's FEMA hooked up (I think it was Wilma) survivors. Again, it's your own f'n loss if you don't have a hummer and can just drive that shiznit like a ninja through 10 feet of water. F - I don't understand why all these poor people don't have make-shift submarines to deal with it!

Sorry, but that's a (R) disgrace on more levels than anything Obama has done. Leaving people to die is NOT part of ANY political agenda - it's just sheer incompetence/cronism. If you think, on any level, the (R) Party took on Katrina proper - look no further than national guard troops AIMING their weapons at people from our nation.

I just hope our brothers/sisters are o.k. and it SUCKS if they lost their homes.
Survival is not a political issue... But thanks for the troll that brought it up AND POLITICIZED IT, jerkoff. PRO PLAY, sir, No Gnu Taxes.
I sure hope you didn't get hit. Even if you're a shill, your life means more alive than it means dead, even if you're a f'n toolbag. That's not a bleeding heart, that's the f'n bible the (R) party clings to so deeply.

Since you don't know anything about what happened during Katrina other than the leftard chow you've been fed, maybe you should just STFU.

Spin: Good for him, he is bringing attention to the problem.

Reality: Nobody gives a flying fukk where he is at. Voters have decided. Dude could be live on air, shooting guys in forests wearing a flannel and listening to Toby Keith, and not a single redneck would change his vote for the guy.

No, the TRUTH is that you leftards are idiots. About Katrina; let's look at the timeline:

On the morning of Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, Hurricane Katrina (Category 1) seemed certain to make landfall in the Florida panhandle, but by the afternoon, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) used new information to revise the watch area to include southern Louisiana. A watch was issued and on Saturday, two days before the storm hit, President Bush declared a state of emergency for Louisiana allowing federal resources to begin staging immediately. Nine hundred-thirty National Guardsmen were deployed to Louisiana that day. That evening the NHC issued a hurricane warning for New Orleans.

The federal government was participating in multiple conference calls with state and local leaders who would be the sole authorities for evacuations and preparation. On Sunday, Aug. 27, at the urging of President Bush, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin finally called for a mandatory evacuation, a delay caused by his concern for the city’s hotel industry. Even with local government delays, and school buses sitting unused, 80 percent of New Orleans’ residents evacuated which was an improvement over the city’s preparations for Hurricane Ivan.
On Monday, Aug. 28, Katrina made landfall in Louisiana. By the evening, as we all now know, levees were breaching and the city was flooding. But New Orleans had experienced devastating floods before, and Governor Blanco told federal authorities they could “handle it.” On Tuesday, Aug. 29, it was clear that New Orleans could not handle what was occurring. Levees could not be plugged, and water levels continued to rise, including in city and state-deemed evacuation shelters.

On Wednesday, Aug. 30, President Bush left the command centers located at his ranch in Crawford, TX to assume leadership in Washington. He flew over the crisis, because he thought landing would pre-occupy recovery workers, divert resources and clog up air space.

Bush relaxed federal fuel and emissions standards to speed along the recovery and diverted several Navy ships to the region to assist.
In spite of Bush's efforts, things did not get immediately better for New Orleans. By Thursday, crime was rampant despite thousands of National Guardsmen, as local authorities abandoned their posts. The tragic situation at the Convention Center and the Superdome grew catastrophic. In this area, it is clear, that a situational awareness of these locations was not being communicated effectively at the federal, state or local level.

On Thursday, President Bush asked Governor Blanco for the legal authority to have federal authorities take over the evacuation of the city. The request was rejected out of fear of “martial law.”

That evening, niggga rapper Kanye West told America that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” and then protested the unrelated Iraq War. Leftist pundits stepped over themselves to agree with the rapper. In the context of this debate, nowhere was mentioned the billions in aid the president was already sending to the Gulf, which would eventually add up to over $110 billion for housing and school reconstruction and other civic and rescue aid and welfare.

By Friday Morning, Bush had delivered convoys of Federal support in spite of the incompetence and lack of cooperation of local authorities.

So, it's just a stupid leftard lie that Bush didn't care or was detached. But then, criticisms of Bush were hardly ever based on truth. On the other hand, you leftards don't even mind that President Tarball (remember his lack of involvement in the Gulf Oil spill) is out campaigning during this event when historically he shouldn't be doing so anyway. Some places, such as Plaquemine Parish are worse off now than during Katrina. So fukk you hypocrites and your POS man love occupying the DC golf courses.
