Did you know that there is no difference in the tobacco in lights vs regular cigarettes? None. Zero. Exact same amount of nicotine.

The only difference is that in light cigarettes, the companies put tiny holes in the filter, allowing you to suck in more air than smoke. Even you put the entire filter in your mouth when you smoked a light cigarette, it would be a regular cigarette.

The only reason that you get less tar and nicotine with light cigarettes is because of the perforations in the filter, allowing more air to come in, thus you're smoking less of the cigarette. However, if your fingers or lips were to cover those holes, or you took longer drags, etc., would be getting the same amount of tar and nicotine. For this reason, the government made them quit using the word light on packaging.
