I was wondering if something like this would come. While it isn't the perfect chart to illustrate my point it will serve as a decent method to demonstrate what I believe.

Here's the ultimate disconnect, Republicans want to hold Obama to task for the situation since his first day in office(hence why they won't support the chart), but fail to see the ultimate irony in that. Republicans like to constantly decry the inefficiencies of government, how government takes forever do anything, and how it can't get anything done in a reasonable time frame.

And yet at the same time they expect Obama to instantly turn around an economy on the decline, as if he can make sweeping changes to the way they think government operates(inefficiency) on day one, such that an economy on a downward trend will instantly turn around and start going upward the second he is elected.

Think about it this way, they point to the economy on a late day in January of 2009, and say, this is the day that Obama is responsible, everything should be measured from this point, as if on day 1 Obama's policies were in effect, or even could be. When the reality is that it takes many many days to see the effects and measure policy changes, no President , Republican or Democrat is truly responsible for economic conditions on day 1 of his Presidency.

Its the same faulty logic that leads current Republicans to decry all national debt increases under Obama. It completely ignores the fact that Obama had no budgetary effects outside of the stimulus on the approximately trillion dollars of deficit that he inherited in fiscal year 2010(a budget for which passed well before Obama took office) but which was added to the deficit in 2009(plus whatever budgetary constants he couldn't control, namely mandatory spending.)

But listening to the so called Republicans on this forum, you won't hear any of this. Instead what you will hear is talking points, namely that Obama is responsible for all economic conditions since the day he took office(and not some point after when his policies could reasonable be construed to be in effect), as well as all deficits and debt since the day he took office.

Note, that this is not a problem exclusive to Republican ideology, but it is the ideology primarily present on this forum, and as such it bears pointing out here more than other places.

Simply put, its not Obama's fault that the Economy contracted by 13% in George Bush's last 6 months in office. You can easily make the case we're in this situation because nobody could have predicted just how big of a failure conservatism and conservatives really are.

I'm not crazy about either guy running. But I can't vote for Obama. He wasted his first 2 years pushing through a stupid health insurance program that has only raised my health insurance costs by 6% each year. He claimed we were being bankrupted by health insurance before, but I never had an increase that high since I've been in business, and it's been 2 years in a row.

I also find it frightening that our sitting president believes the private sector "owes" the government, instead of the other way around. The government is supposed to work for us, not the other way around. It's no wonder there aren't many jobs here when our country has become so unfriendly to business
