Why would Orlando take that deal? Seems like a great trade for everyone but them.

what orlando gets a starting 2 guard plus a solid 5 and gasol will only has 2 years left on his contract so if they want to trade next year there will be PLENTY of teams that would want his expiring contract so it works out for all 4 teams

Shot deal for Orlando. If you are the Magic you want to bottom out and start playing the lottery. Pau Gasol, and Afflalo make you a 1st round exit, and middle o the draft

well think of it like this the lakers are trading bynum and gasol for harrington and howard which isnt even either so it doesnt matter what we say if the teams all agree which is looking more and more likely now since its on sportscenter now the nba could have an interesting year

Adding Howard/Harrington......subtracting Bynum/Gasol.....certainly doesn't improve the team offensively on paper, but adding Nash to the mix and having the ball in his hands will improve the offense.

Adding Howard (if healthy) to the team improves the defense considerably.

Gonna say what I say in every NBA thread...

Should contract most of the teams in the NBA

Then make a league out of 2 LA Teams, 2 New York teams, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, and Boston

That way the players are happy since they won't play for a small market team and the NBA can stop this facade that all teams in the league are on the same level

this trade makes no sense for LA...taking on bad contract of harrington and giving up gasol and bynum...thats just stupid.

well if they do this trade the lakers are saving 10 million and you know how much the lakers are trying to save money so they wont have to go over the luxury tax so it makes since why they are doing this trade if you really think about it

the trio of bynum gasol and kobe isn't working anymore, so i would welcome in a new trio of kobe nash and howard.

I think Philadelphia comes out as the big winner here. I think Orlando comes out as the loser. Not exactly sure what Denver is thinking because Gallinari and Iguodala both play the SF. Perhaps they move one of them to the SG position?

As for those who say Bynum and Gasol is too much, you are wrong. Howard is a top 5 NBA player when healthy. Outside of LeBron James and Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard can control and affect a game more than anyone else. We already saw last year that Bynum and Gasol just isn't working. Gasol isn't getting younger, and Bynum is too much of a headcase to rely on.

It's time for LA to move on from Bynum. He will never grow up but he is a gifted player on offense. I like his game better than Howard but Dwight is more imposing on the defensive end.

I agree Speedy, sixers likely come out as winners if Bynum can keep his head on straight.

Yeah, because teams like San Antonio, Oklahoma City and Detroit have never been relevant in the NBA.

Barring any last minute snag, D-Howard will be a Laker by tomorrow. Bynum will be in Philly. And we'll all expect a Lakers/Heat Finals.

There are always last minute snags. I'll believe it when Howard's wearing a Lakers uniform.
