Mitt Romney Didnt Even Pay Taxes In Italy.. Screwed Them Over

Jon Stewart hammered Mitt Romney for yet another controversial Bain Capital deal Tuesday night, this time mocking the Republican presidential candidate for his lucrative partnership with an Italian phone directory company.
"Do we really need to see Romney's tax returns?" Stewart asked. "When almost every deal he's ever made is the personification of the issues at hand?"
The deal in question, as reported in a recent Bloomberg article, involves Bain Capital's purchase of Seat Pagine Gialle, a telephone-directory company, from the Italian government. The Boston firm resold Seat in 2000, at the height of the Internet bubble, but Bain funneled those profits through Luxembourg to avoid a tax liability in Italy.
"Wow, Mitt Romney's business practices are too shady for Italy,

The one thing about this thread that hits home is:

"Do we really need to see Romney's tax returns?" Stewart asked. "When almost every deal he's ever made is the personification of the issues at hand?"
That right there is a part of the problem we are currently in economically. Instead of capitalism dictating the market, we have greed taking advantage of the system.

Maybe he was trying to make an analogy that business practices like that are a cancer to this country...

No idea, didn't see it. Simply spin.

It's actually worse than that. Romney left Bain in 1999 and the guy was laid off in 2001 yet they blame Romney. When the man was fired, his wife still had a job and health insurance from that job. The ad is a total lie.

If this is all the Dems have is "Romney is rich so you shouldn't like him," then they will lose the election. Which would be amazing considering Romney isn't a great candidate.

They won't go there, trust me. That would completely backfire, for obvious reasons. It's absolutely hilarious that this is all they have. You could write a book on all the corruption and scandal during the last 3.5 years in the Obama White House.

    Oh wait, someone already did.

Definitely the lesser of two evils is what we have to choose from, yet again.

It's sad. You get 50 choices for Miss America and 2 for the President.

Good post. You could write books about corruption within (just about) any political party in todays world. Sad, but in the world of greed driven capitalism we've almost grown an acceptance that corruption is part and parcel of the political package...

Makes me sick to even say that, but thats the reality we live in (imo of course)...

Think that if Dems were to go there then they wont attack directly, (they have their lobby group attack dogs to do that).

Yeah, sure he left bain in 1999. Funny thing is, his fuk'in name shows up on documents dated way past that. Interesting how republicans will say and do any fuk'in thing to get their rich boy in office. You guys should just admit it, you're fuk'ed. You were fuk'ed with McCain/Palin and you're fuk'ed with Romney/douche bag whoever. Obama is well ahead in the polls! Hell we're even leading in Florida, a state full of old fart republicans! Give it a try again in 4 more years losers! Of course by then Hillary will win the nomination and kick you shit head republicans to the curb again!

Too bad Hannity holds no weight, and is simply preaching to a demographic of people who wants reaffirmation of their political ideologies. Every single one of his viewers were not voting for Obama anyway.

Those ads are to target the people who watch Prime Time television series, and get their news in sound bites. As a result, misinformation is a powerful tool, and has become the main focus of campaign ads since Karl Rove played the part of master manipulator. Sure, this type of bullshit has been around since forever, but nobody did it to the level of Rove before - and it has been escalating since.

Al Sharpton isn't paid to even pretend to be fair. He is paid to piss people off.

Hannity is on FAUX NEWS. Their company motto is "fair and balanced" - which is a 100% lie. Everyone on that show gets paid to appear to be somewhat fair and balanced while pushing the republican agenda.

FAUX NEWS and MSNBC are the best comedy on television during election season. The only thing that makes it unfunny is the sobering thought that people actually believe a single message on either of those channels as being fact delivered by a trusted news source and allow it to sway their opinion in the voting booth.

FAUX NEWS is an absolute sham and is registered as entertainment. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are more viable.

Their all overpaid windbags, whose go to move is to simply talk louder or cut to commercial when being owned on their show by a guest/caller. Like I said, best comedy on television are MSNBC and FAUX NEWS.

I've leaned both ways in federal elections. Interned with the Obama senatorial campaign in illinois. Took part in Justice for All in school, and was a big advocate of McCain. Planned on voting for McCain before he tapped Palin.

This election, I am simply voting for someone other than either of those parties. The best thing that could happen to this country election wise, is to make 3 party politics viable - so that is where my effort is going.

If I had a gun to my head, and could only pick one of these two, I would vote for Obama - because at least I know for certain he would be gone in 4 years. Romney wins, it will simply allow the same 'ol crap for potentially 8 more years. That is no bueno, my friend.
