**volstad pitching tonight for the cubs

    you know what to do

volstad 0-12 with a 5.68 era going back to last season
    this season 0-7 with a 7.94 era

even in dodgers stadium i think over 6.5 is in play too

    volstad hasn't beaten shit

the only 2 times the cubs beat the dodgers it was maholm and travis wood as the starters

so i have no idea what you're talking about

volstad lost 5-1 to the dodgers in his only start against them this year

I was thinking about going big on Dodgers ML but -300 is a bit steep

-276 at matchbook, otherwise the -1.5 line at -125 or so looks good

over 6.5 might be the better play, but i'm on all of them

Hate playing Dodgers RLs, especially at minus money

You could put the ball on a tee and they could still figure out a way not to score any runs

Probably unlikely to translate, but Volstad has pitched really well of late in the minors. What a ML for a 6.5 total. Seems like Cubs/O6.5 parlay (+600?) has gotta be worth a shot.

one decent start and still an era over 5 in the minors right?

if the game goes over, its probably not because the cubs get 5+ off kershaw

What about 4-3? I don't think it's that improbable for the Cubs to score 4 or 5 here.

4-3 is a possibility but I think the dodgers get at least 4 in this game

volstad hasn't proven that he is a major league pitcher, other than dale sveum's drinking problem there is no explanation for him pitching tonight

Just take Dodgers TT over 4 if you don't want to lay the juice.

and another winner brought to you by milwaukee mike

whew just snuck by on the run line, and the over didn't hit, but still a nice profit on volstad's inability to win a game

that's 21 straight starts without a win, i remember when capuano had a similar stretch on the brewers. i think the brewers lost something like 22 straight games that capuano appeared in, such easy fade material...

Guys, Volstad actually pitched really well -- 2 runs in 7 innings on 6 hits and 1 walk. And the two runs came on a Kemp HR that bounced off of Joe Mather's glove. If he catches that , and he really should have, Volstad probably has a 7 inning shutout performance. That was easily Volstad's best start of his 10 this season.
