Lebron: "We Would Beat The Dream Team"

Didn't see it posted yet, but i'm also lazy..

LeBron James has joined Kobe Bryant in saying that he believes this year's Team USA Olympic basketball team could beat the 1992 Dream Team.

"The '92 Dream Team paved the way for all of us... We understand what they did for our game, but we also are big-time competitors as well, so if we got the opportunity to play them in a game we feel like we would win too."

yep, but I don't think this edition will be recognized as the greatest.

The Dream Team was strong inside. This team is not.

OBV the dream team would beat them.. no comparison. But its funny lebron would come to kobes side and not let the media just run him over.

Kobe couldn't beat this years thunder and LeBron couldn't beat last years Mavericks. Give me a break. Couldn't beat the western conference champions and finals champions yet you can beat the Dream Team. Go figure.

I don't need a time machine to see how Tyson Chandler and Kevin Love match up against Ewing, Mailman, and the Admiral. Like watching a a pack of hungry lions chase a special needs gazelle.

In a 7 game series, this team wins 1 or 2 games. Let's say Dream Team in 6. People act like the Dream team was invincible.

Magic was 33 and post-HIV. Hardly an imposing figure.

Magic also had knee problems, causing him to miss games. This was after he had already retired from the NBA!

I think the Dream Team would win due to their inside presence. It would have nothing to do with Magic and Bird, both well past their respective primes.

Only reason the original Dream Team is so celebrated, is because it was the start of a NBA All-Star squad to get the Gold back after they only won Bronze in 1988.

Different era of international basketball. So I don't think the 92 Dream Team would average a 44 point winning margin these days.

Could this 2012 team beat the 1992 team? Who the fuk knows.

In Kobe's and Lebron's defense, it isn't like they are going to say a team could beat them. They have to have the mind set that no one could beat them. Even if it is a team from 20 years ago.

It is like saying the College National champion could beat the Bobcats. It will never take place, so who gives a fuk.

Just win the damn Gold medal, because if you don't, you might as well stay in London.

What? Anyone on Michael Jordan's team take's a back seat. Pippen could easily start and in a 7 game series, the Dream Team would win in 5 games the most.....possible sweep

Sorry. As much as I love Pippen he has no chance of starting over Lebron or Durant.

This Olympic team would absolutely beat the dream team. Athletes today are just superior athletes. It's a matter or development.

Only old men who can't handle being in their twilight don't realize this.

I disagree but who knows. I think the 08 squad could beat the dream team. This team is missing 2 of the top 6 players in the world.

I need to see more from Lebron. He hasn't lived up to his billing. How about "Pippen could start for the present team even though James has superior skills". Pippen was so underrated and had to play with Mike. Could Lebron play with Mike? Never. He's not close to being the leader that Jordan is.

What got overshadowed in this is that the '08 team was pretty clearly better than this team anyway.

So if you were arguing about which team would beat which team, you should be comparing the 2008 team with the 1992 team.

Lebron wouldn't need to be a leader to play with Mike. Scottie Pippen wasn't a leader. What are you getting at here?

For sure he's not. And Pippen is definitely underrated. He kind of revolutionized that 3 spot in his own way. His ball handling way underrated and the way he was able to push the ball in transition at his size was a huge reason why the bulls made those runs. But yeah, realistically he is no where near james. James is better at literally everything on the court. Dribbling, rebounding, passing, scoring, defense, more speed, strength, elevation.

Now that he has that one ring, you'll see more confidence out of him, and he will surely win a minimum of 3 rings before he retires. Wade is on his way to having a better career than Pippen easily but he took a back seat to Kobe in 08 because its Kobe. Even though Wade led the team in ppg with an unreal fg%.

Its like onlooker said really, what are they gonna say.. Like when that guy I hate Eli Manning said he was elite. I hate him more than anyone, but what is he suppose to say.. I feel I'm a sub par QB and there are quite a few guys that are far better than me.

Pippen would do a better job than anyone in the league. Hell, Pippen is essentially a poor mans LeBron James.

Whereas the '92 team was loaded with winners like Ewing, Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Laettner, and Mullin.

Pippen is far too physically weak for Lebron. Most of the '92 players are, it's just that people don't realize because they aren't on the same court. Lebron is essentially Karl Malone's size, just 1 inch shorter. Malone was a "power" forward.
