Its going to be lean the first couple of AL years, but this GM knows what he is doing. There will be life in this franchise in 2015.

weird thing is, they're really not cleaning out anything of real substance or material contract dollars.

basically, they traded a bunch of guys - the majority of whom were home grown in their farm system - but couldn't produce at the majors. and in exchange they got a bunch of the same garbage back including some worthless draft picks.

Luhnow is in his first year. He came from the Cardinals organization, and is using their model.

Paranoyd, I agree that some of these guys should have been traded earlier, however in each trade we got a top prospect (top 10) in the other teams farm system. Far better than what we currently had.....Time will tell....

I really hope this rooster_eater know what he's doing. It sucks to have a shitty team. The Rockets won't do shit next year either so it's all Texans and UH for me. Maybe a little Dynamo lol.

Francisco Cordero is working his 2012 magic tonight. Astros up 2-1 going into the 9th. Now down 3-2 with potentially more runs coming.

Cordero was brought in to lose games. Shrewd move by the new GM.

I hope Luhnow was not looking to flip Cordero for more prospects. He could maybe get some used minor league baseballs for him right now.

If the MLB draft is anything like the NFL/NBA draft, then yes losing games is key here.

Being mediocre is a waste of time. Bottom out, and drafting becomes fool-proof.

Ask the Nationals about the advantages of picking first in the draft.

    its not at all alike...

can't think of many ways it is close....

well the Nats recent run of what seem to be some of the top draftees in2-3 years in MLB history is in the same universe I guess

Good to see a few Houston fans here. Texans will help us forget about the Astros and the first half of the rockets horrid upcoming season.
