Assistant manager means you are a supervisor who has a little responsibility and very little power.

As usual math, you know jack shit about anything involved with the casino industry. Some people work to build up savings to start their own business. We can't all be super sharp gamblers like you who hit at around 25% winners and claim to be millionaires. Since you know so much about the industry how much does an assistant manager at a sports book make? Macau is actually pretty nice. Feel free to judge a place you have never been to and never will. Good luck on that Saved By The Bell reunion you hook nose scrawny twink.

jj do you think an assitant sportsbook manager would make more than a slots manager at Stations? I ask this because a lady I had to lay off asked me to recommend her at a Station Property as a slot manager and they started her out at 52k. Very low but that is their scale. So tell me old horseshoe, if slots generates far more revenue for a local house than race and sports why would they pay an assistant in the lower revenue generating department more than their cash cow? Maybe your little fruitcake friend Mathy can jump in and defend you here. Nice team you 2 make, a bald shut in with busted up sweats and a kid who gets slapped around by 8 year olds and called McFly.

Well, majority of Vegas books are scared shirtless by any bettor with half a clue, so FH being onboard might lull them into thinking they can outsmarts the sharps and get them to take some real wagers.

Of course as part of the salary negotiations, I'd expect FH to demand a healthy comp program for bettors. He could improve a Vegas book bottom line by bringing in his fan base.

If i were FH though, I'd only take a large front end bonus to start. Never trust a casino as an employer...as shifty as they are with players, they are 100x worse to the employees. Take the money, buy corn futures and make some money then split town in December right before the bowls when the books are taking all those sucker bets on the SEC 6th place team vs big ten runners up. Book will never know what hit them.

If he's considering a low/mid level paying gig, he's not doing that great as a gambler. Nothing wrong with him hustling for a living gambling, but to think he's got it made when he has to live frugally is ludicrous.

Is this thread really still going?

Seriously who gives a shit. I doubt the guy has the credentials to do it. its a corporate world and if he doesnt have some sort of a degree, even a meaningless one that wouldnt mean shit to the job he isnt going to get hired, end of sentence. people thinking 'old school' education gets these types of jobs are smoking crack. Its like watching Rainbow over at EOg who is about as dumb as a box of hammers talking about how he is some big deal in some offshore book somewhere, supposedly the greek I guess. But he surely wouldnt get hired anywhere in vegas first because he is a dumb **** who I doubt graduated high school let alone got a degree from a college, but mostly because he is just an idiot in general.

To actually think some sportsbooks would hire fish head as anything is laughable, especially when you add that to all the fairy tales about how much money this guy makes gambling.

I know it is a slow month and you guys have to create shit to keep traffic flowing but this is just dumb.

But it could have legs as in a couple weeks when football starts fishhead could be cited as some 'insider' like Rainbow likes to make himself out to be and start spewing all the 'sharps do this' and 'squares did that' nonsense. So JJ can have a plethora of ammunition for starting make believe threads with make believe info from a guy who 'runs a sportsbook in Vegas'.

Huh? Do you know what an assistant manager in a sportsbook does?

You don't need a degree to run over when you hear the word "Key!" and approve/deny a wager, to call the hub and tell them that they graded a game wrong, or to bring money to/from the cage.

Probably more than 80% of the time the managers are former writers in the first place.

    It's not an important job.

Mathy- obviously I have a schedule. I put in anywhere from 6-16 hours a day depending on what project I am on. I enjoy my job right now. Love learning from those that have knowledge to share. Having done work on corporate compensation committee I have a decent idea of what each job pays and in race and sports unless you own the shop or have a ton of money to wager you aren't retiring anytime soon. No casino manager job pays more than 100k a year. Once you hit director and up the money makes the job worthwhile if you have an endgame in sight. I do and figure I'm 6 years away from being able to start my own business again. I actually respected fh when I started here. It takes a lot of effort to do the Vegas grind full time. A few of his stories didn't add up and I lost the respect I had for him. You have your view and I have my mine. I dig some of your creative insults but red suede suit...not happening. Riding a goat....nah. I don't drive here period. Too many Asians.

JJ- slots are a dead end for a career unless you can get a vp job. Not much growth potential for casino workers. Get an MBA. They are looking for numbers guys, not casino experience now. Like I said before, if you move to Vegas I would meet you and try and get you a job that fits you.

They get paid hourly at a lot of places too.

What do you think about Nick B getting the William Hill gig in Vegas? Always liked him. Guess the tout biz wasn't going so well. They reached out to Johnny A first but he's got it made at Wynn.
