Who thinks this team could beat the Dream Team?

    Might not win the gold

said it before and ill say it again....they will struggle against teams with any talented big men...and the balanced spain team does

you would have thought oscar schmidt was playing

and ironically that brasil team he was on was the start of the two year stretch that lead to the dream team playing

SO dream team beat up everyone in their path.. i.e the global game of no ones..

Current USA plays teams that are half made up of NBA rosters...

    Fair argument...

jesus christ you serious with this guy?

and i guess the croatian team that got humiliated by the dream team twice didnt have a bunch of nba players including a legit hall of famer

so let's be clear...are you saying if pitting both mentioned us teams at the time of their olympics, youd take this team?

i see both sides of this argument

yes brazil has some talent with varejao, nene, barbosa, etc

but come on, the us getting covered vs the spread by more than 20 points with lebron, kobe, durant is embarassing

part of the problem is you have guys like carmelo that have no business on a team like this, the guy is not a team player, doesn't play defense, and goes 17 minutes 1-7 shooting for 3 points

why do we need 3 okc thunder on the team out of 12, if they were that great that they have 3 of the 12 best players in the nba they would've won the championship

put dwight howard, nowitzki, and wade on the team instead of some of these middle-tier guys

I thought dirk was german mike? Also didn't wade and howard have surgeries? Mike are you following things lately pal?

92 team was great but in the end all you have to do is win gold.

the 1992 dream team had the best players in the league

this team has key guys left off of it...

with a healthy Dwight, Rose, ect...they could at least compete... 1992 would probably pull it out, but I could see matchup problems for each side

I'm not so sure about Spain. Listening to Fran Fraschilla talk about Spain, it sounds like they aren't as strong as their 2008 team. No Rubio and it sounds like Rudy Fernandez won't play either.

I don't think their lack of size will be a problem. Guys like LBJ and Melo are stronger than most PF's and some C's in international play. I think if they do run into a problem, it will be their lack of perimeter shooting. Outside of Love and Durant, no one on the team is known for being an outstanding outside shooter.

your logic is flawed. with your logic, one can say the usa basketball team of 2032 is better than the team of 2012 without even knowing the team since most of the world will have nba players on their rosters...

Not if my logic says that they can not legitimately be compared other than on a gambling forum... and NBA 2K32

eh. Rubio is out but I like Calderon alot, as long as he stays out of foul trouble this team is as good as 08 because they added Ibaka imo. If anyone costs this team its going to be Westbrook because like you said outside shooting. He's good for 1-12 shooting nights every once in awhile.

The 92 team would have had much better depth.. but the top 5 or 6 from now could battle the top guys from then... Either way, don't see anyone keeping this team from the gold

as the 3rd best pg on this team... will he see much time in a meaningful game?

Everyone else getting better, if you took away the physical advantage than USA probably losses half their games.
They have so little basketball skill and overall team IQ is just low.

Dream Team 92 was basically playing against wheelchair kids.

Look at who Jordan played against at SG most of his career, all scrubs.

(ehlo, miller, russell, starks, hornacek, richmond, etc.)

People talk about Wilt having a physical advantage, MJ's was no different.
Then you get every foul-call possible.

NBA is a bigger joke than WWE, they pass on the "belt" the same way and profit.

92 team better for sure. This team has like 3 4 guys that don't deserve it. Only there because of injuries.

2008 team much better than this team. Missing 2 of the best players in the world on this team in Dwight and Wade.

Don't forget that the 92 team played against scrub nations. Basketball was nothing oversees. Even an Argentina is better than any team US played in those days.

Mike, you are the man, but please don't talk about basketball anymore.
