yeah i agree. it's easy when you are on hot streaks, the most important part is how you handle downswings. you can cap over 50% but most that lose will bet more on the losers than the winners they pick by chasing their losses... i think that's the hardest part of gambling.

JJ talking about gambling mentality is like a fukkin Ethopian giving his opinion on an all you can eat buffet.

Shit they can only dream about.

But if there wasn't value then you lost out on money... Picking winners is rather arbitrary and unimportant.

if i pick a "winner" dont i have a much better chance of winning than if i picked a "value"? "value' bet seems like something that MIGHT win usually involving high lines.

Funny how many people in this thread think picking winners is a viable strategy...

    i would agree with this

over a million bets the only ways to win are scalping and bonus whoring

every other strategy will fail you over a million bets, so why use it over 100 bets or 1000 bets

There are a couple of others too - mostly related to the ones you mentioned. But most on here think they can "pick" their way to the profits. lol.

Yea, that's why I spot bet. JJgold's spreadsheet looks like those millions of bets which is why he is in the negative. I prefer to only bet twice a week or twice a month.

    Edit:
JJgold is -$57,000 on his spreadsheet. I'm -$200 just started a spreadsheet in May. Going to see if my style gambling works vs JJgold's gambling style.

Betting on a most likely winner Vs Betting on for the value. Sportsbooks do this for a reason.

Your -450 on Chad Mendes was betting on a winner not much value compared to betting on a -150 fighter.

Betting on a fighter that is -150 and win, would be spot value.

Obviously winning a bet that is -150 is more efficient (because of less risk) than winning a bet that is -450, but if he spot bets something and handicaps that match/game to overcome the no-vig line it should be considered spot value, right?

Yep, 3 years ago when I started gambling, I usually gambled everyday or a few times a week and usually lost. Just like the rest of the public.

Learning from all the good and bad gamblers. This year I have the discipline and patience to bet twice a week to twice a month.

The public are usually impulsive gamblers that bet everyday. Betting everyday only gives a person less than 24 hours to research. The greater the research time, the greater the understanding on teams and players.

My style should win over the long hall in theory but it is not
I do not think I can ever get back to even unless I bet $55,000 on one game

    I have thought about it
