The only name fighter on that PPV that the casual fan, or even a boxing person who keeps on eye on the sport, is Miguel Cotto. This comparison you're showing is a relatively small show compared to the UFC show. Most Americans dont have a clue who is Pawel Wolak or even Miguel Vasquez. I only know of the guys on the list because I follow the sport intently because it's my job. Korobov is an Olympian, a pretty good one, but relatively few know of him outside of the sport. With the exception of Korobov and Cotto and Vasquez, what the others make is standard for low level fighters. I have guys who make $8-$10K a fight in Asia. The fights aren't televised in the US and basically no one outside of hardcore boxing followers know them. Also, in Southeast Asia, entrance in to most fights is free. In the PI tickets are priced at a dollar or two for most shows that charge. Thailand is always free.

The casual MMA fan probably knows more of the guys on your UFC list than the casual boxing fan does of the ones on your list. The UFC is one event-there are 15 or 20 shows a weekend in boxing plus the ones during the week.

For the record, I like both sports.

To add - MMA fighters make peanuts compared to the average boxer. It's very inequitable for their fighters. You're better off wrestling...

One issue in the US right now is that many Black and White kids aren't taking up the sport like in the past. US boxing is becoming pro Mexican and Hispanic which hasn't caught on outside of their communities just yet. If the US can get a Hispanic heavyweight to compete with European/Russian guys, it could really boost the sport here.

Again I will say, maybe most Americans didn't know but many Europeans did. As I said, while boxing isn't as popular in the US as it once was, outside of the US, it is as popular if not more so in many countries.

Before I address them, I don't think these things about YOU, or myself for that matter. But it does not mean they aren't true. A large amount of the people who watch MMA are inbred, not to mention the fighters. Take Ross Pearson for example.



This man is clearly descended from generations upon generations of peasant stock. There has obviously been inbreeding within his genetic makeup. He lacks intelligence, athletic ability, and quite frankly his appearance is off putting. He looks like Golem. He was studying to lay bricks and engage in mindless labour like his forefathers, until he saw an escape through brutal violence. That is not to say "Martial Arts" is brutal or violent, but what Ross Pearson does can only be described as savage. Real "Martial Artists" train and respect their "art" but only use it in a serious manner when absolutely necessary. They certainly wouldn't use it seriously for profit and the entertainment of others. That would be considered "savage" and "uncivilized". Taking up "Martial Arts" for the sole purpose of making money like Pearson did would be considered ignorant, or even barbarian.



Hominick is even worse. Were are talking about inbreeding in a "not so distant" past. His head and his eyes slightly take on the appearance of someone who has downs syndrome. The eyes being too close set like that is an indicator of inbreeding. Maybe there was a lack of interest because people generally find fights with the Klitschko brothers to be boring. Re-matches with guys they've already beaten surely doesn't help.
