Start time angle: Giants playing at 8 am Pacific time?

I think the 8 am pacific start time v. the Nationals is a nightmare situation for the Giants. Think about it:

The Giants are coming off a long homestand so their bodies are completely adjusted to pacific time. In the first game on their road trip, they played a night game that started at 4 pm pacific time last night and now they have to start this game at 8 am pacific time?

There's no way their bodies will be adjusted. Now, is this enough of an angle to make a play? This angle is probably not gonna affect Bumgarner so would you call this information significant for handicapping purposes or not?

I see several potential ways to play this angle: Giants team total under, Nationals team total over, Nationals score first, first half under, second half total over, Nationals first half, Nationals second half, Nationals for the game

yeah the problem is bumgarner has had plenty of rest so he could dominate even if the rest of the team lags

i'm on the nats +105 small

    I'm with...

re-evaluate the pacific start time of the game last night though... but yeah the idea is the same!

    1st half under 4

That's my conclusion on the best way to play this.

I've been thinking about it too. My conclusion is this. A low-scoring game.
Still haven't decided which one to play though. The first half or the full game. Any suggestions?

Nationals were just on a road trip, spending the last few days of it in the Eastern Time Zone

Problem is, the Giants had a day off on Monday, plus sent some of their key players to the hotel early last night during the rain delay - Bumgarner included

Even playing field in terms of the start time in my opinion

Don't think time diff. will affect game but SF has lost 6 of 9 on road and Nat's will probably win.

I went along with this and backed the Nats. The problem is that Edwin Jackson really sucks. His whole career.

He starts off by throwing ball after ball, and then after getting ahead of Melky and Panda, he grooves both of them fastballs.

    Guy is just bad.

E-Jax will be fine. He just has to settle down. Nats bats will hit Bumy today. 3-0 this early is nothing. Nats still very much in this game.

There isn't really anything to suggest that Edwin Jackson has the mental composure to rebound from a bad start. 8 ER his last start in 3 innings. He has these starts consistently his whole career. It could easily be 10-0 by the 3rd.

this, just pisses me off when a team I back gives up runs on 0-2, 1-2 counts... why not waste a pitch especially to Pablo

Nice start by the Giants. Maybe they need to move the city of San Francisco to the east coast.

He is known to have a shaky 1st or 3nd inning then he settles in. Look he just got out of a little jam here in the 2nd. Nats bats are hot so 3-0 isnt hard for them to come back on. Also Bumy took a liner of his leg. No telling how that will affect him. So i still like the Nats in this one. I dont see Giants scoring anymore.

Edwin Jackson thinks his straight 93 MPH fastball is unhittable.

I could see Bumgarner shutting out the Nats. He's good enough to shut out anyone when he is on. Looks pretty on so far.

Edwin Jackson's ERA is 10 in the first inning?

Why don't the Nats have him throw a simulated inning right before the game? Need to treat this guy like a baby.

Must have all taken their morning dumps at 7:30 AM PST, ate their wheeties, and decided to cash 3 runs in the top of 1

Never thought I'd see Bumgarner give up 5 straight runners with 2 outs. Very flukey.

SF is one of the most overrated teams ou there. There bats are not consistent and they have trouble putting runs on the board. Everybody loves thier pitching staff but with thier weak bats and weak bullpen makes them very risky to play no matter whos on the mound for them.

Just think if it was the Nats that went up 3-0 on SF there would be no way they could come back. The Nats are just a better all around team. Plus them being at home and being as hot as they are how could anyone bet agianst them. The odds makers and vegas are laughing all the way to the bank.

He will dont worry. And the Nats bullpen will not let this lead up. Giants bats are weak and E-jax is in a groove now. Its cash money time for the Nats.

Easy man, its not over yet...but I will agree I wish I had the balls to get an incredible add on when the Nats were down 3-0. But already had 2 units on the Nats and didnt want to put any more on, o well
