Democratic Party to win presidental Election @-155

First of all let me start by saying I am looking at this from a complete betting point of view.

This looks like a great line for me. Obama has done enough to get reelected (OBAMACARE, THAT NEW IMMIGRATION LAW, GETTING OSAMA KILLED, ETC) While Romney is a white Mormon. Lets not forget their was only 1 non protestant president that was Kennedy who got elected due to his looks more than anything. I can't see Romney making a contest here and Obama should win comfortably. And the current odds are still fairly high and I think as election time comes closer the odds for OBAMA should go down with all the surveys and what not. I'm considering putting a couple grand down on the Democratic Party to get elected. What do you guys think? Should I take the bet now or wait?

I'm looking for betting advice don't wanna hear some political bullshit on why Romney would be the right choice to fix the economy or how Obama hasn't done anything.

Trust me, man, wait until the day after the GOP National Convention ends. You will get a better price.

OBAMACARE, THAT NEW IMMIGRATION LAW both of these are strikes against Obama. Do you actually know what the consequences are if these pass? Any president would of pull the trigger on Bin Laden. Shit they had to rip him off the golf course to get him to approve. I give the CIA and Navy Seals full credit here!

You can get a better price right now. Intrade has Obama at 55%. That's about -122.

You can definitely get a better price after the convention, or a better price if this fast and furious thing blows up more. Economy is starting to lag, lots of other factors. In addition, you -150 would equal an estimate of 60.78 chance of winning, which I don't think it based on a lot of the election maps that have come out. You'll get a better price later if you wait.

Hopefully, I met the no political bullshit part.

Edit: Looking at the Huffinton posts election map, Obama sits at 240 Electoral Votes Romney at 191, this equates to a 55.6% of the decided electoral votes. This would give you a price of -125 or so, which equates to the intrade price.

They did pass. Welcome to this week.

Also, it depends how you look at. Obamacare is a campaign promise and mandate that he actually did. So was him getting the troops out of Iraq. So was him shutting down GITMO (he made it worse, but the public at large will only see this talking point). The economy not only bottomed out, but rebounded and is still rebounding - it is much better in America today, economy wise - than the day he took over. He also has Osama Bin Laden being captured on his watch, regardless what you want to say - he was the president when it happened, and he played a part.

Romney has one major achievement to his name, and that is passing Romneycare. Which, for all intents and purposes is Obamacare state size. In 2008, he planned to run on that major achievement, because it is a republican plan. Now his platform is to repeal his only major accomplishment.

Romney has a huge uphill battle if only looking at this from a betting stand point. The odds at -150 are decent. Bookmaker has them at -170.

Look at the "trends" of incumbents losing. It is an astonishing number.

Obama is a lock man......I don't really care him vs. Romney (Paul fan)

I actually trust Obama way more than Romney as a person.....Romney just reeks of a "typical" slime ball flip-flop politician.

Fukked either way though, so whatever

My god, once again - welcome to this week. The Justice department has already stated they don't plan on trying him. He was held in contempt of congress. That is it.

Every election boils down to a handful of electoral votes. Ohio and Florida are those votes. Most every other state is decided. Obama has a lead, and will lead on election night.

Why are liberals brain washed into believeing Obama is a good president? He is worst than Jimmy Carter. Put it this way, he knows exactly what he is doing. That is destroy our economy and making us into a socialist nation. He would love nothing more to turn us into a communist nation. Look at his parents and mentors...all communist. How do you vote for someone who is associated with Bill Ayers and Rev Wright? If you love big taxes, large Gov, having the Gov telling you how to live your life, weakened miliatry, no power grid protection, and continuous week economy. Then vote Barry Obama!!!!

I happen to get Obama at -125 very early, so no matter what happens that's a good price IMO.

There is no fixing you. You are going to vote how you do. There is not a thing in the world to convince you how unintelligible you are.

You are squarely part of the partisan tribe.

Hopefully you live in a state that doesn't matter.

I'd track the polling #s in Florida, Penn and Ohio after the conventions. The winner takes 2 of those. Florida seems more Romney right now, but I have nothing to back that up. Ohio is also seemingly Romney, again, with no polling data to back that up. A lot of key states for Obama are in serious trouble. But I figure the more Romney talks, the better. I'd sit on making a play for a couple of months, probably.

I think Obama is crazy not to go after the magic underpants thing. That's way more crazy than any b.s. the fake outrage machine has brought against Obama in the last 4-5 years. All it takes is an ad to talk about what Mormonism is. It's fair game, since Obama is a Muslim, according to a massive number of our ignorant electorate - and by ignorant, I mean ******* retarded.

I still think this election is closer than it appears. It's all about them battleground states. Nate Silver is GREAT to read about such things.

Sorry pal. Don't think a politician is the answer, just a part of life I deal with.

You want the answer to presidential elections.

Step 1) Figure out which state you are in
Step 2) If not Ohio, Florida or Pennsylvania realize your vote doesn't count
Step 3) If vote does not count, vote for the 3rd candidate. If vote counts, pay attention to real issues - turn off television news, and don't believe commercials.

I live in Arizona. My vote doesn't count. I could vote for Romney or Obama. Doesn't matter. My electoral college representative is going to Romney. Therefore, I vote for the end of the two party system.

Enlighten me...why is it only a 3 state race? We don't have a 3rd party yet and why vote 3rd party????
It's not going to be Paul or Nader. Mittens is a moderate and not a conservative. You can only pick one or dont vote, but either way our country is going to hell.

Electoral college. All the states are figured out. Arizona is republican, California is democrat, Texas is republican, New York is democrat, etc.

Ohio, Penn or Florida can go either way. They also hold a shit ton of electoral college votes. Enough to decide an election. You win 2 out of 3 of those states, you are President of the free world.

It is the swing states that count. They decide it all.

Because I wanted Chalky's view on it. He's more down the middle when it comes to politics.

I live in Miami, so to me Rubio is a bad pick. But Miami is not FL in any way, shape or form.

I truly believe the guy out of Minnasota would have given the R's a real chance. Rubio is what he is, a young energetic guy who will deliver Florida (or about as good a chance as it gets).

In truth, the only VP candidate that mattered in an election in my lifetime was Palin. She single handedly gift wrapped the Presidency to Obama.

In the scheme of things, they matter for not, outside of the immediate votes they can add. He might have a slight potential to add latino business vote. However, Romney on latinos is as bad as I can remember.

Living in Miami I'm in a bit of a bubble. The Cubans down here don't like Rubio at all, but I'm sure the rest of FL is a big fan of him.
