    Idiots crave attention!

Boys I am new to this forum but have been following for months and decided to put my 2 cents in for what's it worth. For the most part I think people are making honest picks and giving insights, and their breakdowns for the game. With the exception of a few morons who come in here and crave attention just ignore them and do your own thing, make ur own picks, fade,or follow. Cannot recall his name but just a couple months ago there was a fool in the baskets threads claiming to make million dollar bets while partying with his trophy wife on an island every weekend and suckers just kept giving him attention. Point is we are all here for the same reasons to make our picks, give some insight, and beat the books. Lets clean these threads up and stop with the pissing contests already. Oh yeah Bassmaster or something like that for anyone who follows hoops was his name. Point is let's get on the same page and share your picks, any insight is helpful and lets beat the books not each other. I'm pretty sure 99% of posters here are in the same boat as me. We work 9-5's and use gambling to "cushion" our income. If you think someone is a fraud then ignore them!!! Good night fellas and good winnings to all

Most of the negativity is started by "Friends" of the sportsbooks. Get my drift? I know it's hard but best to just ignore the trolls. As for the attention seekers? Well they are plenty at sbr also. Best thing to do regarding them is to stay out of their threads. They usually create more than a little bit everyday. Pay attention and you'll soon find out who is worth listening to on the forum. Sbr can be an informative and fun place once you learn how to sift thru all the garbage.

I'm a spotter bettor that prefers to gamble to win money, and not to gamble for attention.

Gunshard......whats your definition of being a "spot bettor"
I always hear this, but what keeps you from going off the edge a bit, and start chasing?

    Hey Reg,

I did not say it but I have always thought you were a good guy, so, if you will, it is an acquired taste. You make a decision that you will try this based on the fact that you enjoy wagering AND you enjoy the money. It might tempt you every now and then to chase but if you stick with it for a few months you will start to get the feel of it. Once it starts paying off, the desire to make money overtakes the desire to bet. That is the key.
In time you will identify what sports you have the best vision in. You will also gain confidence as well as experience in looking at this from the spot bettor angle. It really is different. Money management is vital though. You need to set that up in your mind before you start. No going all in or going broke, that is foolish and will end badly. Solid reasonable amounts, steady and smart.
Eventually you can pass without even thinking twice about it. The only way it does not work is if you put no effort into getting better at it or if you just need to lose. I have seen plenty of both.
Can you go to the track and not make more than a 2.00 bet ? Probably not, but in time , absolutely. Same goes for all sports.
Don't get me wrong, you will need to work at it to find strong opinions that should be strong opinions, but it will happen.
Lastly, keep track of all your plays. Without a scorecard, everyone thinks that they are about even. Write all plays down daily and by sport. Review as needed.
Hope you think about it, it really does work, at least for me.
    Best of luck.

Spot betting could be one play a day, or 1 a week or month

str that sounds like a lot of work

why not just deposit $1000 each into 2 books with 20% bonuses, and make $400 for betting against yourself? 100% guaranteed success over a million trials vs any other method that has a 100% guaranteed loss out of a million trials.

yes you can win over the long run by shrinking the amount of trials, but it's pretty hard to consistently find plays that are 55% or better.

Not really so much work. I get the fade yourself. That is funny and true for plenty. I guess that is because my game was horses and not so much all sports every day, it was easier for me. I follow sports heavily any way, so being patient and finding solid plays was not very difficult once I realized that you could watch a game for future plays on or against, similar to watching a race with no play but find plays off of that race in the future. Not always, but often enough
This has worked for me for decades but maybe it is just something I find ok while others might not.
