were the opponents they faced better? either way baseball just not like basketball where best team always wins hot team and/or better pitching prob more times than not win in postseason baseball. Still Id never fire a guy who won 97 and 95 games for me in 2 seasons.

Dusty teams had a free pass tho as there was no competition in the east last few years. Really no way to say but going off this teams choking history I don’t think it a stretch to assume wouldn’t be any different w him in charge. In other words imo it has nothing to do w manager and everything to do with fact they have pressure being applied to their regular season for a change, if we know anything bout this team it is they choke when the pressure is on! Was the same with dusty in charge.

do you think its because their team is worse, their batting .240 this year, I know Harper isnt hitting well besides homers but big chunk of rest of team isnt hitting either.

I think they playing worse because they are getting pressure applied to them in regular season. It been a absolute cakewalk for them last few years with phils and braves In rebuild mode and Mets and marlins being the muts and marlins! Lol..(they prob didn’t expect the phils and braves to come on like this till next year! Lol). they may be worse in some areas but seems they have made lot of moves to strengthen the pen which was a absolute weakness 2 years ago and last year before the trade deadline.

Dusty can’t win in the playoffs but every team he’s Coach won the division and made playoff appearance - (SF-REDS-CUBS-NATIONALS

Managers mean very little to a teams success in this sport. Nursing egos and just not making stupid moves w the pen pretty much the job. Good 1’s just don’t cost their teams games. A retarded giraffe could have took nats to playoffs the last 2 years in the east.. I have nothing against dusty, he a fine manager, doesn’t mean nats would be any better off with him right now with phils and braves playing good ball.
