    lol seriously dont bet.

no way in hell does a road team have a better chance than a home team to win 3 in a row home games.. u do realize miami is 85%+ at home this season? .. beyond that OKC was 100% in the playoffs before miami just owned them.. so that would be the stat u should worry about.. okc hadnt been beaten at home until that game where they lost home court advantage.. u better hope okc wins 2 on road because 1 wont be enough of the 3 if they play that soft in the first 2 qtrs again like 1st 2 home games.

Have confirmed with a very reliable source that Corbin actually has a rather large bet on Miami for the series, and is using the old reverse jinx.

    Pretty low, Corbin.

Unreal....you guys think Heat are gonna just let OKC come to their home court and win 3 or even 2 games?? OKC is only winning 1 in Miami, and most likely game 4.

The Pacers/Boston series has truly made people blind and doubt how good this Miami team is, esp at home. They're finishing this series off in 6, exactly like Dallas did last year. OKC will win 1 of these next 3.

home teams win 3-5 only done twice.
road teams have won 3-5 3 times.

believe it or not, history shows that the 3 game sweep is more likely to come from the road team. probably because they were the better team(record).

road teams that won game 2 have won the title 5 out of 10 times.

just looking at history, this series is still a coin toss. history dont mean shit though.

Miami is dominate at home, and just an average road team.

Miami wins 2 of the 3. But OKC can close it out at home. This is gonna go 7.

OKC best chance to win a road game will be game 4 or 5, their big 3 will all need to shoot lights out for them to have any chance since their front line (Perkins & Ibaka) are atrocious on offense.

Series will go 7 games, because that's what the League wants to make more money, and so that's how the refs will call it.

I know it's a forum and everyone has a right to post and express their opinion, but if you really believe that the league makes more money if the series goes 7 instead of 5 games, when the majority of their money comes in guaranteed television contracts over the course of the season and playoffs and mandates that the referees call the games in a way to influence the outcome please do the people who love you a favor and stop gambling. Or please explain how the NBA makes "more" off of a series going seven games. there are two additional games if the series goes 7 instead of 5. So does the NBA see any extra advertising revenue? No, because ABC has sold the ad time and those ads will air in the timeslot with whatever Sunday and Tuesday programming that replaces game 6 and 7. The NBA doesn't sell ads, ABC does. The NBA and David Stern sold basketball to ABC and TNT those companies sell ad time based on a 7 game series, if the series is a sweep they don't give the money back. Officials are subjective, sometimes they are crooked and influence the outcome, but it isn't because Stern ordered it. So go ahead and roast me for this but David Stern rigging the Finals is as dumb as the conspiracy theory here at SBR that Lou rigs the poker tables so that the pre flop favorite never wins.

    simple
as the series goes longer the ratings get better

when the new tv contract comes up they base the price off the ratings from previous years-networks can then charge more for commercials based on previous years ratings

the nba definitely makes money in plenty of ways if the series goes longer

    http://www.americansportscastersonli...banewdeal.html

That's just not true. They got an increase in money from the network partners after the lowest rated Finals in recent memory.

The NBA will receive about $930 million a year for all its broadcast rights, an increase of more than 20 percent from the previous average of $767 million, according to a person familiar with the deal who requested anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release details.
The previous contracts, though, did not include the extensive digital media rights. Stern said the traditional TV rights are still worth more than the digital rights, but the packages do not break down the payments for each type separately.
ESPN/ABC and TNT will each be able to simulcast and offer video on-demand for games that air on its networks.
Stern and network executives downplayed the league's declining TV ratings, insisting there is still plenty of demand for NBA-related content through other forms of media.
San Antonio's recent four-game sweep of Cleveland finished with a record-low 6.2 television rating and 11 share on ABC.

For OKC, Game 3 is it

If OKC wants a shot at winning the whole thing, they had better take Game 3 in Miami.
That's the best shot they have at not sinking to 1-3.
Otherwise they will probably win Game 5 but will see MIA celebrate in OKC.
Quite minuscule chance OKC takes Game 4, MIA will be too settled by then, whatever happens in Game 3.
