Sorry to hear. Thoughts and prayers. There are some alt medicines for certain types of lung cancer. But only for specific gene matches. I guess do as much research as you can. Hang in there

Lost my grandmother to lung cancer.
Spend as much time as you can wth him now while it's early. As it progresses it gets really bad and tough to see them like that. Don't beat yourself up to much buddy nothing you can do about it. Life is brutal at times..stay strong

Fair comment. Get a 2nd-opinion, at least.

Doctor outlooks are viewed as Bible. You'd be amazed how often they're wrong.

Sometimes, it's a matter of having a tight schedule and issuing an opinion. Other times, it's the matter of medical opinions being an inexact science. Don't settle on worst-case scenario just yet.

Parents and loved ones die off especially when you hit your 40's and 50's.. I've experienced it myself. Never fun.. Sorry bro, it's just a part of life.. Life goes on... Besides I believe when you die you go to a better place.. I'm pretty certain of it.. Hang in there bud!!

Nah, no alt treatments for this. Cherish the time you have left with him.

Try hard to not strip him of his dignity during his time left, it’s easy to do when someone is sick and it’s usually unintentional . Men don’t want to be treated as charity cases and don’t want pity. Just make sure he knows you love him and that you know know he loves you. That will be enough.

Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes... My dad can't even walk 7 feet without coughing and choking... he has smoked dam cigs since age 16, packs a day... he is trying to quit but it already caught to him.

Is shocking to see your dad cry. Only see him cry 2 times before this, when he told us he is divorcing mom, and when he told us how his mother died in front of him (killed by a stray bullet from a very irresponsible police officer)... main reason he became a 1% in late 70's/80's... then he realized he was no longer angry at cops and he quit and moved here... thats why he is alive.

He was a motorcross champion in Costa Rica and all central america, raced for Honda in the US...

A great man who's only vice was cigs ever since his mom got killed... no alcohol, no drugs.

My heart is broken, but I carry on knowing the only thing I can do is help him, spend time with him and cherish every moment moving forward.

Ive been binging all week and now with this, I aint stopping I think... you know you are down when you do blow and drink a bottle of scotch and you barely feel buzzed... I just felt dazed and confused.

He's been bitter ever since mom decided to split, he just works like a horse.

But I am contacting my cousin from LA... plan a men trip the 3 of us and my brother to camp and fish... he used to love fishing...

Its been a rough year man.

Still some results and tests pending but it aint looking good... and he has not quit smoking.

I knew before he told me it was bad... you could literally see that in his face... the pain... somber... its really up there in worse news a guy can get right up there with your mom got raped and the apocalypse is coming.

Damn cigarettes!!! The tobacco companies should stop making them.. They should be banned for sale period in the States.. Cancer sticks, so many people die from them. It also doesn't matter if you quit or not either later on in life.. The damage is done..

Cigarette companies should be ashamed of themselves for creating and marketing a product that is proven to kill people.. Focking cancer sticks I hate them, I hate smelling the second hand smoke as well, can't stand kissing a girl that smokes.. I won't date a smoker.. I hate getting in cars that smokers have been in, you can smell it.. Etc.....
