And don't instantly think that the record compiled by OSU's starter, Dan Child (6-3, 2.75) isn't every bit as impressive as LSU's Gausmann (10-1, 2.84). The Pac-12 was a gauntlet this year and we finished the season with a sweep of arch-rival Oregon, including Child's last appearance when he recorded his first save in a 3-2 victory with 22 pitches in 1.2 innings of work. The SEC and Pac-12 were the power conferences this season, with seven and six teams ranked respectively in the final NCBWA poll of the season.
Also of note, the Beavers improved all season long to finish with a season high fielding pct. of .981, including playing error free baseball for their final seven contests. I can't help but think that +200 looks like solid value on the Beavers tonight.
That's okay ZBOIZ, we get another crack at you today. A win and we dance one more time for a berth in the Super Regional. Beware the pitfalls of inventorying your fowl before they emerge from the shell.
Nice job by LSU......Oregon State had a chance in the 9th but shit the bed. Once LSU got out of that jam you knew it was probably over
LSU makes the 4th SEC team to advance to the super regionals (Arkansas, Florida, and South Carolina are the others), with Vanderbilt and Ole Miss both playing for a spot tomorrow
Hey Tigers, see ya in Omaha......Signed, the 2 time defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks
