So I'm at the Phillies/Nats game two nights ago (dressed in my Yankees gear) and the Phillies have Kendrick on the mound.
The Phillies sucked all night long and find themselves down 2-0 in the bottom of the 7th with their 7, 8, and 9 hitters due up.
First two bums come up and go down to make it 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th and Kendrick due up.
So now I'm expecting a pinch hitter to come out of the dugout and bat for Kendrick naturally.
Shockingly, Kendrick steps out of the dugout and comes up to bat.
At this point, I say out loud in front of the Phillies fans, why is Kendrick still in this game? The Phillies need offense at this point obviously and Kendrick pitching in the 8th isn't going to help that.
Well naturally, Kendrick makes the out. So, I'm expecting him to pitch the 8th obviously.
What does Manuel do?
He brings in Valdes to pitch at the top of the 8th.
WTF?!
If you were going to pitch Valdes in the 8th why have Kendrick bat in the bottom of the 7th?
Boys, at this point, dressed in Yankees gear, I say out loud to my entire section "Ladies and Gentlemen, you have just witnessed a lesson in ineptitude by the worst manager in baseball".
The Phils go on to lose the game 2-1.
Charlie Manuel is the absolute worst manager in the game. Anyone who says otherwise has not watched this man actually try to manage a game.
The Phillies need to rid themselves of this guy asap.
