I think it's a coin flip. So why is OKC +157 I am asking myself-on top of that the public loves OKC..

Nice bet, lb. I think Thunder are too young for Spurs and can matchup inside defensively with Perk/Iblocka

Spurs don't need to play uptempo if they wish. Their halfcourt offense is arguably the best in the NBA.

Get this: they DON'T need to run.

GL LB but I think Spurs will take it in 5/6.

meh...yes and no. just dont see a point in wagering this series. i think its spurs or nothing personally. maybe wait and see if spurs grab games 1 and 2 and then hit OKC for the value but the spurs are the play in my eyes...

I love OKC at these odds.....early in the playoffs I was prepared to take them at around +100 or better if they were to meet the spurs, and I could not be happier with this line. Spurs are red hot but OKC is a fukkin juggernaut in their own right

With ya here LB.......Also, if the game goes 6 or 7, you bet your ass David Stern and his crooked cronie fukks will be giving OKC the benefit of the doubt with any close calls. OKC much better ratings for the finals......Durant vs Lebron is the dream matchup at this point from Stern's Point of view

Then why didn't Stern put in the call for OKC to beat Dallas last year if Durant/Lebron is the dream matchup. Stop thinking the NBA is rigged because if it was Miami would have already won a ring last year. Do you know how hard it is to rig NBA playoff games? It happens once in a great while. Certain guys get the benefit of the whistle not because of Stern, but because of their reputation (i.e. Kobe in game 3 of the OKC matchup)

If you like OKC why not take them ML for game 1 It's ~+200 if they lose you'll get a much better price on the series, if they win you will already have won more than the series bet pays.

First of all, my first paragraph about OKC being a good value play is just based off of legitimate reasons.......The whole "rigged" thing is kind of just if the NBA was to choose a side, it would 100% be OKC

    Having said that.....

Why would Miami have won a ring last year? Them going for the first one creates more interest this season......Everyone rooting for them not to win one now

I don't think NBA is fully rigged but I've seen enough shit over the years to understand that refs SOMETIMES blatantly favor a team with questionable calls throughout certain games........David Stern is a sneaky Fukk and a lot of what Tim Donaghy said was the truth

Sometimes teams just outplay the shit out of other teams and there is nothing the refs can do as well

Because you have to bet more to get less money if they lose the first game.

If you want to bet 500 on them to win the series youre looking at 800 back. So you bet 365 on this games ML to get back 800 on the +220 ML. If they lose that leaves you 235 of original 500 you wanted to bet. That means they would have to be +340 (which they wont be) for you to still make the same amount as you would betting them before the series started at +160.

+160 isnt enough. This goes in line with my thread on value and odds and what looks good. OKC HAS to win a road game to win the series, therefore their minimum price should really be +220 at least. More than likely they will have to win 2 road games as Spurs have a decent chance to win one in OKC.

But as it is the line is already up to +171 at Pinnacle and will probably continue to climb, I suspect you will find some +190s at some point and it will probably be +180 or so around game time as some people will eventually buy back. But so far it has been all Spurs money as it opened -165/150 at Pinnacle (I guess, thats the lowest I saw), now its 190/171.

Betting series in the NBA is all about timing. You cant really take OKC right now even at +171, you just cant do it. The only way that really 'hurts' you is if they go up 2-1 (and eventually win). If the series is tied 1-1 going back to OKC then you are probably looking at them +100 or so, if they win game 3 at home then youre talking them -150, if they lose and go down 2-1 then youre back to the odds you currently have so it is a 'push' sort of and you have more info to go on, and a 4 game series.

So as it stands if you like OKC to win you sort of have to wait, unless you think they will dominate then you have to take 'poor' odds and be thankful for the cash.

Do the sportsbooks in vegas allow you to bet the series after 2 games? If so, which ones?

If Spurs win Game 1, series price will be around -325, so buy back on OKC will be around +290

I have to agree with big daddy LB on this one. You can get OKC for +185 at 5Dimes right now. People pounding San Antonio.

Duncan, Parker, Ginobli... I think will tire out in this series. Leaving San Antonio with no leadership.

OKC doesn't need leadership... all they do is play Harlem Ball...

Spurs have been there before. Spurs own OKC. This is gonna change in the playoffs? Public loves OKC to win this series. You can get +185. Good Luck!

No-Vig should be 190. The value was with Spurs when line first opened, now no value on either side at around -200/+170

By the way, when I said Spurs -170 earlier, I was estimating Spurs -4.5 at home, Thunder -2 at home. The -190 is using Spurs -5.5 (actual line), Thunder -2

I find it even more interesting that the line opened as low as it did and had to correct itself this much.

Not shocking that books were anticipating a lot of Thunder money. They are the popular flashy team and the Spurs are "boring". Spurs opened what, -170 (exactly as I predicted )?

Spurs not as good defensively as people believe

Spurs haven't won championships with Parker or ginoboli as their focal strengths ever... only with Duncan or the admiral as the meat and potatoes.
