Have stayed at the Fiesta once myself, no complaints whatsoever. Room was small, but clean and I at no time felt unsafe. It was cheap as hell, and other than sleeping and showering I spent maybe another hour or two total in the room over a 5 day period.

For Strip joints I've liked PH over most others.

Poker players in general are fleas. They don't generate a ton of revenue. The Cosmo is just a nightclub that happens to have a casino. Their gaming numbers are a joke. Vegas is still in a recession and if Adelson and Wynn got offered enough money they'd get out of the city and stick to Asia and other untapped markets.

Going to vegas for the week starting with the weekend of memorial day. Cost $149 total for a the week in a 2br "Villa" at Marriot Grand Chateu, which is convenient enough. Right next to Planet Hollywood and across from Aria. I prefer to be in the Caesars area/TI/Mirage/Flamingo/Harrahs/Ballys. Best place to stay.

The $149 is a time share exchange though.

Truth be told, my favorite casino/hotel in vegas is the Gold Coast. No idea why, always have the best times when I stay there. I do play a lot there, usually win money.

Wasn't that big a fan of Aria, prefer many other over that place. However, Vdara, part of city center, was one of the nicest stays I've had in Vegas.

Encore by far has the best hotel experience in Vegas that I've stayed at. The gambling environment is dull but the rooms, amenities and service is top notch. I've been to Vegas 20+ times in the past 2 years all comped so I can speak from experience.

Have never stayed at the Encore or Wynn. Go there to gamble a lot as they have the best drinks by far. I don't like that old money feel of that place, prefer the newer (asian) money feel of City Center.

Stayed at the Palazzo for two nights 2 years ago, and I really enjoyed that. Rooms are .

But the point remains the same, doesn't matter if your room is 5 star or 2 star, the room is not where money is won and lost. I sleep from about 7am - 11am every day I am there, not many hours to care.

You can only gamble so much, buffet so much, walk the strip so much, and tour so much. How much and what star your room has to be is up to the almighty dollar and preference. I hate slots and bet on only so many games, mostly futures, so having a nice room and convenience to buffets is a premium for me. I like to walk the strip and hate the hustlers trying to sell me a time share.

Exactly! The amount of time spent in the room is minimal unless you are there with your significant other or gf.

I stayed at the Palazzo too last year but hate the 'perfume' smell of the casino. I will NOT stay there again.

I prefer mid-strip properties like Caesars or Bally's. Easy access to everything. I am well taken care of by CET and try to avoid Mlife if I can so I am a little biased.

No doubt, my girl agreed to do a "tour" of a property for free show tickets... and there I was, with my girl and some gigantic black woman, somewhere bussed off the strip, being harassed to buy a time share. I think a total of 5-10 words were spoken by me the entire 3 hrs. No, No thankyou, I already have one, not going to happen. Still took 3 hrs. FML.

Time share I am using next week is my parents who bought newyears week.

The true Vegas experience is by City Center

I guess depends what you like

A hotel is an important part of your stay

I was talking to Canuck and he likes hotels like $30 a night

"jj i am there to gamble period , I do not give a fuk about bugs or crime. Jj drop me off in the strip with a sleeping bag and I am fine."

I prefer CET as well. A lot more actually, much better comps, IMO. And agreed that that part of the strip is the best place to be.

One of my more enjoyable weekend trips, that was very recent, was a stay at Casino Royale. Fukkin' dive, man. But it was one of the most fun weekends I've had in vegas in a long time. (Although, think it had more to due with the chip stacking I was doing at three-card poker, than it was the room).

    Hotels I hate in order:

    1) Excalibur - I have been tossed out of that place 3 times in my life. Once as a kid in the arcade, twice from the blackjack table because of the moron on the end who kept taking the dealers bust card.

Distant 2nd) Palms - can't stand this fukkin' place. I have never won a single dime there, and I think they added a whole new tower due to me.
    3) Bills gambling hall, wont catch me dead in this place - unless I am trashed and want their steak and eggs at 5am
    4) Plaza, bad fukkin vibes/memories/everything. Blow this fukkin place up.
    5) Circus Circus/Riviera/etc. Basically anything north of Encore. Although I like the stratosphere.

The rest I really have no issue staying at, playing at. Stayed and played at a lot. Started trying different options off the strip, i.e. GVR, South Pointe, etc. Those are basically cookie cutters, if you've seen one station - you've seen them all.

I've never stayed at CR. Bang for the buck I'd much prefer to stay at Gold Coast or Flamingo. For me it's all about a clean room, free and in a good location.

    You coming to the Bash?

No idea about the Bash, when is it? I'll be in Vegas all week, starting next Saturday, if it is sometime within that time frame, sure.

Like I said, it is really hard to beat the Gold Coast for me.

Haha, awesome. Pretty far from now. It's possible. Vegas right? I'm a 4 hr drive from there, so it's pretty easy.

Saw the threads, never clicked on one to find the info.

I don't get to travel much. What are all these words like CR, CET, "the Strip", good location, bad location, Mlife, Palazzo?

Also if you are in your mid to upper 20's, single, handsome, confident....like to play poker, gamble, eat good food at affordable prices anytime of the day and want to meet hot @ss at clubs who are easy too....what is the ultimate hotel place to stay in Vegas?

    CR = Casino Royale
CET Caesars Entertainment (1/2 of the Las Vegas "strip")
Strip is a street with most of the action in Vegas
Good location / Bad location speak for themselves. You are either close to the main attractions or you aren't.
Mlife is the rewards program for MGM properties.
Palazzo is a high-end hotel in Vegas.

You would probably want to stay at Aria, New York New York, MGM, Planet Hollywood or Caesars for your first time in Vegas.

MGM, Hard Rock, Aria or Palms are the best pool parties.

Caesers. Still the best for a first timer. Right in the middle of the strip (main road that all hotels live on). Upper end amenities, and clubs all around.

Do you guys like Foxwoods? I mean the poon there isn't all that up to par unless you're standards are that of Grits-N-Gravvy's...but i mean they have a nice comedy club, some decent night clubs and the MGM grand theater there for concerts. Their hotel rooms aren't that shabby either.

Just curious how you guys would compare the amenities at Foxwoods compared to some of the places you named out in Vegas?

You can't compare Foxwoods to Vegas. Fooxwoods is nice but it's nothing like Vegas if you are looking to get broads, gamble and drink.

I can't speak to foxwoods, never been there personally.

I would put Vegas well above it without much personal knowledge. As far as a compound type atmosphere you see in Foxwoods, the hotel casinos in vegas are still massive, but not quite that scale, IMO. You can easily make a week of just getting drunk all weekend, and hoping from casino to casino, starting at Mandalay and ending at Encore.

I would say it is not a fair comparison between the two, outside of gambling, and the name of MGM, there aren't too many similarities as far as I can tell.

Once again, I can't speak on Foxwoods with any first hand experience.

Lot of young girls running around the city tonight hoping to get nailed by a rapper at an after party. Going to make the rounds at XS and a few other spots and see what is going on.

A lot of great hotels in Vegas. Depends on what you are looking for. I really like Red Rock for a get away.

Flamingo is fine, a bed and a toilet. Rooms aren't special.

You've arrived when you get invited to an off-strip private poker game. Only professional capper I know goes to those time and time again.
