Chris Bosh out for Season, will this be the excuse this year?

IAMI -- Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed an abdominal strain, and the team said that he will be sidelined indefinitely.
Bosh suffered the injury in a 95-86 Game 1 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.
    Heat With and Without Bosh

    > 4-5 without Bosh
    powered by

Bosh pulled the muscle on a dunk late in the firsthalf, struggling to rise from his knees after being fouled by Pacers center Roy Hibbert on the play.
The Heat were without Bosh for nine games this season and went 4-5.
"Our plan isn't going to change dramatically," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "With Bosh in the lineup we understand LeBron (James) and(Dwyane) Wade are major threats. With him out of the lineups we understand they're major threats. There's not a lot of differences in how you're going to approach the game. Obviously it helps (us) not having Bosh's scoring ability out there but they have other guys."
Ronny Turiaf started the second half in Bosh's place and scored four points and grabbed three rebounds in 10 minutes. Joel Anthony picked up some of the slack, scoring nine points with seven rebounds off the bench.
"I feel like D-Wade and LeBron are going to pick up the slack. This is a very capable team," Hibbert said. "Hopefully we can limit their scoring. We can't let them get 35 a game."

He's not for the remainder of post season is he? That's been confirmed?

Heat will handle pacers fine, but the C's will be tough without Bosh.

Rachel Nichols twitter has him out indefinitely. They can win the East, but every Western Conference team alive (minus the Clippers) have the bigs to expose the Heat now.

strained abdominals shouldn't be more than a week or two

no real test (even without him) until the finals

It depends on the grade of the strain with a grade 3 strain you can be out up to 3 months

Bulls (with Rose/Noah) would have been favorites over Miami with no Bosh. Bosh gives the Bulls problems.

clearly. The Bulls would've had home court, and with no Bosh, the Bulls definitely would've been favored.

As for Bosh, the team essentially isn't saying anything. "Indefinitely" could mean two weeks or it could mean months. There's no duration.

Maybe God is an NBA fan... with the Bulls done, God made sure Bosh got hurt so that Queen James will go another year without a title.

On the other side of things, if the Heat can win, I'll give Queen James his due, unless Wade hits every clutch shot.

I didn't watch yesterday's game... but is Bosh really hurt??? 5Dimes must not care really... because the Heat's future for winning the title didn't change. It's Miami +130. No movement at all.

They can get through the Eastern Conference without Bosh. I don't see them winning against the Spurs or Thunder anyways.

I don't think it matters at all. There's only one ball and now LeBron and Wade will take over more which is probably a good thing. I don't think those stats at top with and without Bosh matter because a few of those without Bosh games had LeBron sitting out too so of course the numbers will look like shit without LeBron.

Useless stats they are. Just had a quick look at those last few regular season games where Bosh was out for a while and they had 66 and 70 with all three out, 84 with Wade only, 88 and 96 with James only and 83 (vs Bulls) with only Bosh out. None of those games were important. Can't be bothered to look up the other three games Bosh was out. Bullshit stats OP.

You can joke all you want. His loss hurts this team in this particular match-up because Hibbert wasn't going to slow him down. Now you stick a plodder like Anthony back in there. Better match-ups for the Pacers. Don't think it's a series breaker, but definitely hurts what they could have done. Now it's certainly all Lebron and Wade.
