Strong blowback from highlighting Peters sitting during anthem cited in the DEADLINE report, alluding to other incidents this preseason as well of social protest from players.

#5it's not just the nfl... ratings are down for most things, as millenials cut the cord and just don't watch as much tv/don't go to as many movies/don't go to the mall/etc
look at the vma's... ratings are 1/2 what they were just 3 years agoComment -

#7I'd rather Peters sit down than have to witness this.

I watch the NFL to watch football, that's it. I don't care who is singing the anthem, stands, who sits, the halftime show, Black history, politics, etc.Comment -

I've always loved football but think it far less enjoyable now as the worst part of all these rule changes or "emphasizing" of some rules as they say is the fact that it has given the officials far far far too much say in deciding the outcomes of games..
I like playing fantasy fb too so guess I'm partly responsible but I'd be fine playing it without everyone putting up fraudulent stat lines achieved by most cause of all the changes made to allow for such..
I miss the days of hard nosed football where you had to be a grown ass man to go across the middle or stand in the face of pressure in the pocket knowing you were at risk of being crushed.Comment -

#22The league ruined it themselves with over-officiating, over-regulating, games have become too long due to commercials and trying to interpret the rules, they stopped viewing sports as the entertainment business that it was meant to be. The League themselves actively sought to become Social Justice Warriors before the Kaeps of the world starting kneeling during the anthem.
It used to be easy to determine what is a catch, now you need a team of lawyers just to define the wording of the rule and nobody is still really sure. Players were getting penalized for celebration dances, because we all know dancing is a huge problem. The league sought to highlight and promote social issues instead of promoting the fun of the sport. The league brought this upon themselves, they lost sight of what the sport was supposed to be about.Comment -

It hasn't been the same since the clown took over.
I couldn't give a shit about players sitting really. Think it's dumb, but yeah. When they started throwing flags to touching a QB on the head, and ridiculous shit then I just don't care unless I have money on it.

If a player ducks their head, and accidentally gets hit then penalty.
What's a catch? Let's look for 20 minutes to find out.
Shit is just penalties, and commercials.Last edited by Cuse0323; 09-08-17, 07:32 PM.Comment -

#29I saw a study during the NFL playoffs that showed that there is roughly 17 minutes of actual action, from the time the ball is snapped/kicked to when the whistle is blown to stop the play, but games last 3.5 hours. The league screwed themselves and are trying to blame some guy sitting during a song, for their lagging ratings.Comment -

#35I know what you mean but that has a lot to do with the fans. They complained for years about how the refs suck and we need more instant replays. Now we have it. Challenge flags, then every scoring play inside 2 minutes is automatically reviewed, then every scoring play automatically reviewed. Heck, in the CFL you can challenge pass interference now. You want it you got it.
