How many people on the planet do you think make a living betting on sports? What would you set the Over/Under at? As long as it's their primary source of income we'll count it.

#7I know several. They are not greedy and diversify.
We all do, it's the only way. You need may outs and your outs need outs. And even then, get more outs.
Sometimes everyone wonders whether it's worth it. I suggest outside income and a growth style portfolio for those who can win over time.
This can be the most satisfying way to win. Paying bills with gambling money makes it harder to grow those funds.

#10Not many.. You had better be really seasoned, good at spotting trends and very disciplined with your bets to even try....
I do ok myself but I'd feel the pressure for sure if it was my only source of income. I've had losing seasons before in sports like Football and even the NBA and lost money.. MMA and MLB never.. Those sports are solid for me every year..... I'd have to only bet MLB and MMA.. I wouldn't like that...Comment -

#12Oh and you need to be betting a dime per game to even think about a upper middle class lifestyle. That's where you probably need to be grinding at.
Sorry that's actually a little low. Prob 3 to 5k per game to make couple hundred a year if you was grinding.Last edited by bonz; 09-05-17, 03:54 PM.Comment -

#16Of course you're going to find lucky people with lucky streak still have one in years but most people lose in any form of gambling including the stock market unless you buy and hold for years and years and good companies

Gambling is just a hobby for me that usually ends up making me an extra income.
If i didn't have a primary source of income id probably be broke.Comment -

Sanford Orlando Kennel Club generalmanager Mike Newlin, who has worked inpari-mutuels at horse and dog tracks, believesCRW bettors are acting as an added takeoutfor most horseplayers. He believes their programsthat scan potential payoffs and canfire hundreds of wagers in an instant to acton those findings are an unfair advantage andthat they should be prohibited.
In2014, robot players accountedfor a higher percentage oftotal handle than ever before, reaching a low-end estimateof $1 for every $5 in the pools.

#27People win millions of dollars every week also in the lottery if you break it down it's such a minuscule amount of people
Billy Walters was a fraud made most of his money illegally
He did make some money in sports betting because the lines were so wide and off pounded middles let it ride on one side when the line was off seven points .... the technology was not there
Now it's impossible to expose lines

Value plays in MLB all the time as well..
For example today - I think there is big value in this Arizona/Dodgers game tonight..
You got a red hot Zona club that won 11 in row now and already swept the Dodgers a week ago. Zona slammed the Dodgers last night again in a blowout.. Sure the Dodgers are the best team in baseball and have the best record still but they are playing like a cellar team right now... Dodgers can't score runs lately and the pitching has been very vulnerable outside of Kershaw.. They are just 2-8 I believe in their last 10 games. Kershaw barely won that one game by a run.... The Asian Dodger pitchers have been getting absolutely lit up like clock work and we got another one on the mound tonight in Ryu..
Arizona can still be grabbed at +odds in this game.. I think the odds should be -185 Zona the way the Dodgers have been playing lately.. Grienkie (16-6) is on the mound for Zona tonight and remember he was a Dodger for years.. He's familiar with Dodger Stadium and it will be like pitching at home for him tonight.. He's been solid lately.. Grienkie only gave up one run 6 days ago and beat the Dodgers..https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7257/
Even if the Dodgers rebound and win tonight it's still a solid bet for value I believe taking Zona and Grienkie.. Nothing is ever guaranteed in sports though..Comment -

#31I doubt many people can profit long term and those who can likely have other sources of income.
Probably very few would even WANT to have sports betting as their main source of income, too much stress when your bills are dependent on this.Comment -

Not really. It all depends on how much/how many bills and expenses you have.
If Billy Bob and his fat nasty wife live in a trailer somewhere in bumfckk Alabama, he won't have much stress if sports betting is his only source of income.
But if someone lives in a house damn near the size of a mansion and drives expensive cars in a desirable area (like me) using sports betting as his only source of income, you are going to stress out big time.Comment -
