Why didn't you bump a thread from 1941?

The splendid splinter hit .406 that year.

No chance even if he does stay healthy.
With his history chances are very likely that he will not play a full season

No chance anyone hits .400 ever again with all the specialized pitching now.

He could do ACL tomorrow, that would keep him above .500 for the year.

    Dropping to .402:

Hamilton, who hit two homers Friday night, struck out again in the fourth before his solo homer in the sixth. The slugger leads the majors with a .402 batting average, 18 homers and 41 RBIs.

He has the lineup around him and the right home ballpark for it

I wonder if he was batting .3995 going into last game of the season would he pull a Ted Williams and refuse to be benched?

Lmao Ted Williams was bating 400 last 2 games of the season .. Ended up having a double header and the manager was going to sit him .. He said fck it and played and ended up with hitting 400+ ...

Josh Hamilton is good but he is also on his walk year .. Look at all players going to be free agents and the years they have before entering free agency
