Best part of that long article was that this "Ben" kid from NBA Memes got his site back! Good for him, must have been awful to watch this thing he created being total stolen and ripped from him. Bummer. Cool he got it back!

I totally agree, in America right now its alot like it was in the late 90s and early 2000s with the tech boom but now its not just companies but people who can use this technology to create web sites and use social media to create income for themselves, especially women. I guess whoever was going to do this was trying to do something like ijustine for the sports world and there have been alot of successful women in the poker media world, whoever did this should have had a women who was more knowledgable about sports and gambling and a little more well read rather than trying to use some young girl as a gambling/sports writer.

Covers certainly probably got something out of this coverage on all these web sites like huffington post and deadspin but the whole thing was really poor on espns part.

Most members there had that fraud pegged from her first fake picture she posted with that Mandarin Chinese guy. That site should be held accountable for assisting in the scam that they helped create. Think about it for a minute, was there any other gambling site that would have let happen what happened other than covers? Absolutely not.

I think that was one of dj's sarcastic responses to me because if it were so easy, I can't imagine why he wouldn't have done it himself.

That being said, I checked my Twitter account last night for the first time in ages and have literally hundreds of follower requests and I haven't even tweeted in over a year. So if he - or anyone else - has any get rich quick schemes, let me know and I'll cut you in on the profits

Yeah I'm assuming some are. Others are guys from here and tennis people. I guess they hope if they follow you, you'll follow them back? No clue. Seems like you'd have to hustle quite a bit to actually make cash from it all.

Why would anyone follow me? I don't tweet. The last time I did was when Fuzzy was in the WSOP. It's funny though - I saw a guy today with only 1k followers... he's the one I mentioned earlier in here. He put a Tweet up about how good Tostino hot pockets are and had "spon" after it. So someone has paid this guy to Tweet this crap and he doesn't even have many people following him. If we were 10 years younger pal, I can imagine we could've made a killing.

Following some lawsuits a Twitter follower is supposedly worth $2.50 but in reality they are worthless unless you can monetize from them which is rather tough if they are mostly bots/fake accounts.

The only thing a decent number of followers does is make your site/business look "legit" and fake followers bring in real followers.
Just like the average human will always click on a millionth viewed youtube video as opposed to one with 27 views. People are sheep.

Its amazing to see covers being written about in huffington post. JJ, you should be living in costa rica creating content and tv shows for sbrtv. You and shari and peter would make one hell of a team. Look at the numbers some of these folks make on youtube and you guys are a hell alot more interesting than some of these "Web Celebs". http://www.businessinsider.com/meet-...e-stars-2010-8

young turks 112,000, natalie tran 100,000, ryan higa 151,000, shane dawson 315,000???? Fred?? I dont even know who most of these people are, I think Ijustine started as a lifecaster, I don't know, but I see her everywhere.
Sbr tv could direct alot of people here with a stronger presence on youtube.

I would definitely watch regular content and shows on sbr tv if it was easier to find and you didnt have to navigate through all the pages here on sbr.com. The landing page here is just so cluttered and I rarely go to the sbr tv page, sbr tv needs it own site.

I watch news and read stuff like egrmagazine and calvin ayres site and pokerroad, those pages are just so much easier to navigate than sbrtv. Even these blog formatted sites like Beyond the bets are pretty easy to navigate, sbrtv has some great content it is just not always easy to find. If Peter and JJ and Shari and Blondie and the whole crew had regular shows or podcasts up or just some news feeds and regular gambling/sports news, I would tune in.

As far as SBR generated stuff, this is where I head http://www.youtube.com/sbrforum/

It's only official SBR produced stuff, but the videos spread across a lot of different sports and I actually quite enjoy them. Much easier for me to decipher.

Thanks Shari, I didnt know they had their own page on youtube, I just usually see the videos if they are posted in one of the subforums. Sbrtv is one of my favorite parts of the site, you guys need to get JJ to start developing some weekly shows and get him more structured with his video making and be able to work with camera and production guys like Peter can. I am surprised the sports gambling world doesnt have as much as poker does for media, there are some great shows on poker road, 2+2 has a great podcast. You and Peter and JJ could do some great podcasts and shows.

I usually dont see stuff on the web unless I know its on at a certain time or I visit the page regularly or its on my google reader. I would love to see sbrtv have its own page like calvinayres site or egrmagazine or develop a news show when you knew it would be on or where to find it. I will definitely check out this sbrtv youtube site.

The youTube channel is actually quite lovely because you get the stuff like the daily winners and losers from Jonelyn, industry reports from Natalie and Peter and then a crazy amount of sports content all in chronological order. I bloody work here and I'd miss some of these vids if I didn't know about the channel. During the NCAA tournament it was out of control. Every game had a video with either Peter or Natalie breaking it down, and then you'd have these soccer gurus talking about all of these matches so convincingly (two of the guys were from books with SBR moderating the chat) that I found myself betting on all of these games and matches I never would've. Thankfully Peter made me a ton of cash and the soccer guys were pretty spot on too with their props.

As far as us, I think SBR has spent a lot of time and of course cash developing things to differentiate and try to perfect (as much as possible of course) things that separate this forum from others ie inhouse poker, inhouse book and casino, the points program, the Store, the Pro program. Now that most of these are almost as tweaked and awesome as they possibly can be, I'm sure they're looking at how to start utilising social media more. How that will eventuate, I have no clue but there is so much talent here. Purely based on the access SBR has to industry insiders and books alone as we see constantly, would be enough. Throw in JJ, Peter and some of our most hilarious posters, tempered by the sub forum guys who live and breathe certain sports and pure handicapping and modelling, and it would be brilliant.

There are some because I saw them broken down on one of the more mainstream news sites in the comments threads. But I'd be talking out of my ass trying to repeat them correctly for you... we need Boner or one of the other lawyers on here to explain it properly. The email 'contracts' she made with those kids will get her in crap as she took money for services not rendered. But one of the guys reported that he suddenly got $500 paypal'd to him yesterday from her so it seems something's clicked that if that money isn't returned, they're f'd even worse. Someone also mentioned the LAPD thing but I'm not sure if that matters.
