they would actually. check the world cup ratings for 2014 in brazil when games are actually going to be live in primetime, not on at noon on tuesdays. if they didnt care about soccer at all you wouldnt get a game like the champions league final on fox, you would get a seinfield episode or some stupid movie instead.

This is why Americans routinely just accept such poor options for wagering, most of these guys probably have no idea of the volume on soccer match or even know the first thing about betfair or the kind of volume sbobet may get on a soccer match or even the kind of action Happy valley in asia will get on horse races compared to american horse racing.

Its all about markets and compare how Euro books can sponsor tennis tournaments like bet at home does, or sponsor soccer clubs like bwin and real madrid, boylesports and sunderland, mansion and tottenham, etc. Bwin even sponsors motogp races, you see sportsbook advertising everywhere at sporting events. It is a totally different world where sportsbooks and gambling is regulated.

In America , maybe we have accepted this situation because alot of people just dont know anything different. I bet alot of these young guys dont even remember when Americans had access to pinnacle, neteller, matchbook and most of the books around the world.

Gambling in Europe and Asia and most of the world is just regulated and controlled and is on a totally different level and most Americans without friends or agents without access to euro books are forced to deal with these US facing books and their usually miserable lines and options.

Only time I watch soccer is the world cup or when USA is playing in an important international match(i.e. Gold Cup). Apart from that, I'd rather watch my town's water tower rust.

You've obviously never played baseball at a high level. Pitching and catching takes a ton of energy out of you. There is a reason a pitcher can only start once every 5th day, it isn't just the shoulder trouble, he needs the other days to rest his legs/torso as well.

LOL thats why you dont like soccer, cause you know nothing about it. On average, a soccer player runs about 8 km during the 90 minutes. The only one who does not run a lot is the goalie, because they have to take care of the goal and they cant run up forward. Every other player will move around, whether it is a corner, or just attacking, or even when defending, they have to stay close to the player they are assigned to mark, CONSTANTLY. Heck, I'd say a goalie in soccer runs more than a baseball player

Only active real American sports, as I said previously, are football and hockey. Even the NBA, but I hate them because they seem like they don't give a crap about the game ...

American's will never never appreciate Soccer. In fact, they never appreciate anything they do not understand. This is what happens when you are constantly told you are the greatest, smartest, best country in the world. How many of you have you have even travelled overseas? I doubt more than 10 percent of American SBR posters have even been further abroad than Canada, and that would be being generous.

Personally, I can appreciate many different sports, who gives a shit about deciding which one is better? Let's pick winners instead of puffing our chest out in some kind of we are better than you tit-for-tat? Fukn gay.

I like sports that have lots of scoring. NFL and NBA are the best leagues. NHL and MLB and soccer on 2nd tier.

I hate when any game ends in a tie (soccer)

people that hate soccer probably saw a Minor League Soccer game. I was never that interested in the game until I moved out of the U.S.
Now I find myself watching more soccer than basketball games.

agree the mls actually is part of the problem. it has gotten better but is nowhere near the elite leagues in europe in terms of talent. it probably would draw the casual fan away from the game. the big problem with the euro leagues is that many of their matches come during the american workday or on saturday morning, so its hard to push them IMO. my feeling is that soccer has plateaued in america in terms of interest, way more popular then it was 20 years ago, but still not mainstream. i dont see it being mainstream without the mls becoming an elite league, which will likely never happen.

Well it goes both ways then.

The baseball/basketball in other countries is deplorable compared to the level of competition here.
