    I'm an Angels fan, and it's pretty apparent this guy will go down as the worst free-agent signing in the history of sports.

    Rumors are rampant that his age is suspect, too.

    Please. Pujols is in a slump. He will be a bad signing towards the end of the contract, but he will be nowhere near as bad as Soriano will be in 2010-2015 (before he is cut)

    Pujols' numbers have steadily declined the last three years. I realize it's a slump, even if it is a historic one for his career. It's bad enough the Angels have another horrific contract that they keep trotting out there every day. Vernon Wells makes Alfonso Soriano look like Babe Ruth.

    I just checked out Soriano, yeah, he's pretty bad. Last year Vernon Wells posted a historically bad on-base percentage for left fielders. It was close to the worse for the history of baseball - .248. This year he has outdone himself, he is currently at .241.

    Soriano is a power hitter with no power. His defense is deplorable and when he does get on base (not often) he is basically a catcher speed wise these days so he clogs up the bases.

    It is terrible. I wish the Cubs would just cut him. It is a sunk cost at this point.
