We see what short nba season did to players...

    Rose
    Howard
    Shempert
    Ginobili
    Rubio
    Hamilton
    Lin
    Amare
    Wade
    Carmelo

David Stern may have buried nba image for a long time. A lot not playing now in Olympics. Could be bad for global marketing.

Maybe they can try out for the NFL?

Heard it is going to be 2 hand touch in a couple of years.

Anyone know if tv ratings were higher this year than the past few? I personally liked the shortened season.

You ever play ball. Taxes tendons more than any sport. Listen, we know they're paid well but when you're playing back to back to back, it buries anyone. Doesn't matter how in shape you are.

No one can say that. Are you saying it is not at all a factor?

While I agree to an extent...blame also falls on the players who rely on training camp to get themselves back on routine. These guys are professional athletes and they should be in shape or on some sort of training regimen in the off season. They just prefer to act like rockstars in the offseason and forget why they get paid millions.

A bunch of the players on that list didn't get hurt because of the short season. Some had injuries early in the year and some hardly played at all. Like Rose and Lin. Rose played a game or two and got hurt every time. Guy hardly played at all. Jeremy Lin played like two weeks and got hurt.

Dwight Howard is your typical "I want to play in a big market" crybaby that seems to plague the NBA the past decade or so. He wasn't really hurt IMO. Could you imagine Karl Malone or John Stockton doing such a thing?

Well he did have back surgery and is also holding out from playing in Olympics. Tough call.

This stuff is nonsense. Rose was going to dominate playoffs without that decision to drive into the lane last night.

23-9-9 after all that time off and all the injuries.

I don't like the clown either but when you have back surgery you don't do it without a reason...

Blame players for not coming into the season in shape.

These guys have played almost every day of their lives. We shouldn't use a shortened season as an excuse. I mean, their career is playing basketball.

Do you people think that they don't practice everyday?

Blame the coaches for the injuries. Coaching is why Yao Ming is retired, playing him 40 minutes a night when everyone knew 25 max minutes was his limit. Even Pops kept Manu "held together with bad glue" Ginobli from a season ending injury. Coaching did the players in, not the schedule. Play everybody on your bench, everybody on a ten day contract, the water boy and even a trainer rather than run your starters out there for the back to back to backs or 7 games in 9 days or 11 games in 15 days. The players should have demanded more rest and stopped cowboying up too.
