MGM to replace bartenders and cashiers w kiosks

    https://www.vegasslotsonline.com/news/2019/03/07/mgm-could-replace-many-employees-with-robots/

The union out there must be flipping out. This, less than 5 years after Ceasars ch 11 wiped out their union.

The new park place did this and I can tell you the check in process is a nightmare, haven’t had a time of 3 stays where everything is correct.

    ???

Are you insinuating that playing casino games online, betting sports online, or watching a game you have money on at home, is even close to being as exciting in a casino amongst so many other others doing it together and watching on the big screens?

    nope

just asked you to describe the Aura that mentioned. everyone experiences things different in peron.

bots wouldn't change the experience that much imo, and for some people would enhance it

Who in the hell wants to go to a casino full of robots? I can just see the executives in these big corporations sitting around a table. "Our profits aren't big enough, how can we increase the bottom line? Well, let's just ruin the Vegas experience. It'll add $300 million to the bottom line. Let's also add a hidden $35/night resort fee. $25/night for parking. They gotta park somewhere right? That will work. Man we're smart."

Then, when nobody shows up and the numbers are down they sit around scratching their heads.

you have to remember, they are also adapting to fit the next generations of customers going forward.

they people that have strong opinions on this already, will most likely be dead in the next 10-30 years

They have to mold their product to fit with the lifestyles of Millenials and Generation Z

those generations also will have more expendable $ compared to the current casino gamblers

I see your point. I just think it will backfire. We'll see.

A casino should take your money, give you a free buffet and pat you on the back. Now then you have a repeat customer. It's just smart business. Degenerates will come back to any place if they get a freebie. I'm not even that old.

Millennials really prefer robots to humans? I’m technically one but an older one. I still prefer a bartender to a robot. Don’t mind tipping.

Actually wouldn’t care in Vegas. Don’t spend much time at the bar. They will pour a perfect drink. I like to find a bartender that pours it strong, but Vegas has more that go by the book anyway or even short pour my ass.

Most bartenders suck today. Millennial bartenders don't have people skills.

I was in a bar in Florida on Saturday waiting for a friend of mine. Nobody was sitting at the bar but me and the bartender starts breaking down the bar at 8:30pm, looking to get out of work the minute the clock hits 12. Didn't say a word the whole time and when I finished my beer, gives me a check instead of asking me if I wanted another beer. lol

Bartenders are far from lazy my friend, you try standing on your feet all day on a 14 hour double and dealing with some of these people out there

These machines are cool and all to replace those shitty drinks the cocktail waitress brings a long but not good for much after that

No doubt. Already happening some, I think. And it would be so easy and efficient. Probably just keep dealers only for high rollers.

They don’t get paid that’s true but if you tip well they will give you more than enough free alcohol (longer pours, free shots, etc.) to make up for it. That’s a pure hit to casino - not bartender. In theory - this is more efficient. Bar won’t lose as much in lost profits from mistakes and bartenders discretion (some portion of which will make its way into reduced drink prices) and drinks are now cheaper by a couple bucks as we aren’t tipping.

I dont agree with it at all but as an economist I love it.
