With all due respect to the board's Canadians--I consider you guys cousins, Americans want American teams to win it all. We're are freakish competitive. When the Blue Jays won, who I was rooting for, the majority of Americans didn't want a Canadian located team to win it all. I was labeled a turncoat by fellow 5th graders at the time. Same thing goes for hockey, soccer, etc. When the U.S. played Canada in the Olympics, people who didn't know the slightest thing about hockey, were going mad for U.S men's team. What a game that was by the way...loved it. Same with soccer. We don't have a prayer, but guys who know nothing about the players will paint themselves red, white, and blue and show up in numbers--they can be heard asking why the game is ending in a draw? Or they'll be in disgust that a player is purposely killing clock. For us, winning and being number one is a matter of national pride. Who gives a damn about the details. Just letting you into the mind of a typcal American.
