Most conservative will never even hit on 15 unless they see alot of high cards coming out

Bob Stupak used to have that in his casinos back in the 70's I think. I'll never forget my Dad telling me about that and being amazed that the casinos had such an advantage that they could even win with you seeing both their cards.

Of course, the payouts are less to make the house still have an advantage.

was about to say the same thing. Always hit on 16 when the dealer is showing ten or ace. Play by the book boys. Acceptable to stay on 16 when dealer is showing a 17.

Yeah, blackjacks only pay even money, and if you wind up pushing with the dealer it's a loss. So, you know, on several occasions I've actually gotten 30. (having to hit on 20)

I think those are the only two disadvantages. It seems like you can't doubledown on every two cards, too.
