If you want to get any sports news from ESPN, go to ESPN Classic in the morning. They will normally have a good classic ball game on, and the news streamer on the bottom of the screen is bigger than the other ESPN channels.

Pre cable TV. Grew up in Boston area as a kid. Class 81. MAYBE 3-4 minutes sports coverage @ 6 and 11 Nightly News.

BUT, the Boston Sunday Globe was glorious. Full page Bob Ryan NBA. Gammons baseball, McDonough Football.
Staff was loaded with HOF writers. Internet simply can`t compare.

Early SC was awesome. Haven`t watched it in years. PTI, Dan Patrick and highlights of Herd is all I will watch now.

Gone are the good old days of a 60 minute long full highlight episode of nfl primetime with boom and tj.

Used to get so excited to watch it after all the 3pm games and before the Sunday nighter would start. The music was epic. Each game would have in depth highlights and turning points in the game.

The NFL primetime now on Monday afternoons spends like 15 seconds on each game showing 2 or 3 tds.

Now there's never a reason to watch espn except for poker or mnf.
