Is there really a reason to stay Pro?

Now all poker games have a daily fee to enter . Every other month the Pro system keeps getting worse and worse. SBR is becoming very similar to the CC company that signs you up then sends you waivers every month about how the fees are changing and your interest is magically going up for no reason.

The PRO system was a great business plan but for Christ sakes I would rather SBR not try to give away the farm then charge for everything.

The poker games now have a daily fee but they're now paying out to 20 places every tournament and giving away thousands of dollars at the end. Not complicated.

That's true until you get past the point of free pizza. The point is what is this gonna look like in a year? Store prices go up 15%. US players are once again limited on what they can buy. Then to renew you will need to jump through another hoop and eventually start depositing @ books you don't want to just to stay Pro. Unless you wanna donate.

All these changes they keep making to line their own pockets with absolutely no regard to loyal posters is starting to seriously piss me off.

"You can no longer deposit at books to remain pro". That was pretty much the last straw for me.

I'm sure they pissed off the majority of the US customer base already. I'm assuming they receive the most traffic from US based players. It will be interesting what they come up with to put some lipstick on this pig.

People just see OMG more points. But in all reality they are paying more slots so they cut the risk essentially by making 10 more people roll over 3x. The only people who benefit from this are losers that sit in the ring games for 17 hours a day playing high penny stakes.

anyone playing every day in the poker tournaments should have at least a 1 in 100 chance of getting in the $15000 tournament.
so that's $150 worth of value right there

if you don't want to be a pro don't do it

but it doesn't cost you anything (everyone can find something for $200 at amazon) so even if it only gives you 6 pts/day extra to play around with it's worth it

I'm not saying there is not value in the Tourny or the Pro program.

The question is are we getting close to the point of no value? 12x 365 would get you back over your $200 initial Pro deposit. But now if essentially you are taking away those 55 points per week. Is there still value? When the store gets jacked up as well will there still be value? When another new change to the program comes in the next month? When you get handcuffed on where you can play, does it become beneficial to go Pro? I think we are on the cusp of it pretty much being neutral.

i would agree with you guys that it might be neutral if you were just throwing away $200

but i think buying $200 worth of credit on amazon.com counts for renewing (for now)

I didn't realize the Amazon thing, or ever heard of it. That would make sense. You could just as well sign up for a fantasy site 2. Most are linked to paypal and funds are there next day when you withdraw. So make a $200 deposit play a game then withdraw the next day/week once your shit is approved. That's if you are cheap enough not to having gambling money and just point bet here.

That's a legal issue genius. You don't think SBR would allows you to become a pro via a sportsbook if they could?

Didn't SBR add a free year of "PRO" status to everyone until 2013? Or did I see that wrong?

Yeah eliminating sportsbooks as an option and giving everyone a free year of Pro status is really going to rake in the cash for them. Now I remember why I havent been posting. You people make my head hurt.

Do any other forum sites offer giveaways? I know that you have to 'pay' in the form of depositing into a sportsbook to receive additional points and buy more at the store.

There was a story I heard one time about an old man who didn't like the kids playing on the street outside of his house. He didn't know what to do to make them stop but then had an idea. The next day he went outside with a smile and told the kids that he loved the noise of children playing as it makes him happy so if they bring all their loudest toys he would give them 25 cents each at the end of the day. The children were louder than ever and at the end of the day he gave them all a quarter. This continued for 5 days until the old man came outside and sadly told the kids he lost some money and could only give them 10 cents each. The children grumbled and mumbled but continued to come and play and be loud. This lasted 5 days until the old man glumly came outside with a frown on his face and told the kids he didn't have any more money to give them but hoped they would continue to play noisily outside his house everyday. The children talked with each other and decided not to make the old man happy for free so they only played at the park down the street.

I agree. I also think SBR did everyone a favor by adding a free year to their PRO status's in the hopes that the U.S. gaming/banking laws change sometime in 2013.
