I prefer 1 chip tournaments. At the most have everyone start off with 2. We're all very busy and have places to be

And its fine expanding it at 20 but my point was dragging it out for first 2 hours that was relatively pointless.

Uh... Start begets the finish.
Big Picture point was always that the winner, for once, will actually have to play a lil bit of strategic poker to claim the 5k..... not just a flip like in the past (and yes, some luck is always involved, that's a GIVEN and not really a supposed point that needs to be made).

Even though I got out relatively quickly on the only hand I played to a showdown, I like the longer format and hope it's retained for every one. I'm assuming the next contest will be the WC, but the one after I hope it returns for.

Should be around 3.5 hours to the end at a guess.
About perfect for a final I think.
Hmmm. Might be more like 4.5
Down to the bubble after 3rd break.

Winner always had to play a strategic round of poker. Just a different strategy.

So, ds, if you win are you still going to be against the longer format?

Yeah... there's plenty of play @ the top... will take awhile... the amount of play is unprecedented for SBR and a welcome change, for most.

Men honest question....are you calling an all in (15k in chips - want to say level 6) with 33 to risk your tourney life?

I don't play pocket 3's half the time for the BB. So no.

I was in between you guys. 33 is a pretty loose call. He probably read that you could have been semi-bluffing and thought it was the right call given the chips in the pot, but he's either slightly ahead or way behind there.
I wouldn't beat yourself up over it

Luckily I cashed but 4 hours just to get there was pretty brutal. Giving a few to the bubble because no one deserves that.

I'm still for the shorter formats and will probably always be. Sat for little over 4 hours to win the equivalent of 60 bucks or so. I've cashed the shorter formats multiple times as well over years even winning one back in SBR poker infancy stage I think.
Up it to 30 min blind levels at final table if you wanna grind it but over 4 hours just to make final table is pretty brutal for anyone not winning $5k or maybe top 2 or 3

Sure... but you're gonna have to do a lil work, first (what does your assbone wanna hear? please phrase in question form)... otherwise, just like Strother Martin said: "what we'll have here is a FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE"

I prefer the longer format...I won 7.7k in this tourney, in less than half the time it had taken you to win 2k.

That was a heartbreaker.
Cant believe he made the call with that.
And I would have pushed in that spot same as you I think. Even not knowing your cards.
