    I still don't understand why they didn't pay Brees. The guy earned it. Do they think he is going to break down again?

    Peyton Manning's deal gives Drew Brees more leverage in contract talks with the New Orleans Saints

    Somewhere today Drew Brees had to have been smiling when he heard the details of Peyton Manning's new contract with the Denver Broncos. The deal will give Brees even more leverage in negotiations with the Saints on a long-term contract.

    Dude if Megatron got 115M and Manning 96M, I say Brees can pull off 100M or more for 5 years easy...

    Denver is overpaying to get rid of tebow. denver is bidding against themselves. Brees can't more money from anybody else. He too is a victor because of sean payton. He doesn't put up invincible numbers without payton and the boys. Saints should let him walk. Only one super bowl appearance. Just like trent dilfer.

    If I were Brees I would take no less than 100m over 5yrs just on general principle. More than Peyton...

    Drew is a great guy so his ego probably isnt in play

    I think he should take less money. Brees also got a fair amount of national-level endorsements that he probably would not have gotten if it hadn't been for the Saints. Also, the Saints are going to spend their salary cap, we all know this. The more $$ Drew gets, the less that can be spent on other talent.

    Let's see Drew Brees duplicate last years success without Sean Payton. The real bounty kingpin.

    Where do you think he'll go to? It's a shame if he actually does leave... I can't even imagine where he could play don't even want to consider the idea of him moving.

    Drew will get paid. $100M+/5 yrs for sure
    The city would be in an uprising if they let him walk away.

    Brees has stunk it up this year. No Sean Payton no Drew Brees. Could have not made the playoffs with Chase Daniels. Good for the Saints.

    why can't he cover up for a bad D, bad special teams, bad coaching like Manning did esp his last couple years in Indy?

    Brees = another over-rated QB
